: 800 Dogs Seized From Couple's Home
Rocket Dog 03-13-2008, 09:17 AM http://www.kpho.com/news/15579448/detail.html
An elderly couple had over 800 dogs and 80 parrots in cages in their triple-wide mobile home. Yikes.
bh241 03-13-2008, 09:45 AM That is sad, I'm amazed at how often something like this is discovered though.
Just this week, in KY, a 'rescue' of all things was discovered with over 115 dogs (41 dead) in horrible condition...
The really sad part is that these folks actually think they are 'helping' these animals.
Twilightzero 03-13-2008, 09:52 AM OMG how the hell did they even WALK....?
protaganis 03-13-2008, 11:07 AM Waders and a life jacket...
Two things really stand out in that article.
1. Triple wide trailer (a redneck mansion).
2. They were "hoarding" the dogs (for the coming apocalypse) driving their mini sled through the waist deep ash with 100 chihuahuas racing in the lead.
We need to stop them, they are the harbingers of the apocalypse, Migraine & Phlegm (they work for Pestilence and Death part time).
Ever wonder why people are like that? Doesn't common sense ever wallop them upside the head and say DUH?!

protaganis 03-13-2008, 11:24 AM Gotta let it out sometime :D
Besides, most people suffer from insanity, I just enjoy the ride:razz:

denaliwind 03-13-2008, 03:01 PM Awful! I just heard about it this morning on my radio. I just don't understand some people.
I'm sending some doggy things over to help the Humane Society.
valeriE 03-13-2008, 04:03 PM Holy s. And I thought the stuff I see on Animal Planet was bad... :-o

I can't watch the shows on Animal Planet any more, makes me very very angry and want to go out and strangle random people...
Rocket Dog 03-13-2008, 07:03 PM Those shows on Animal Planet tick me off but it serves a higher purpose of illustrating how horrendous people can treat animals and ultimately leads to change. That's probably a naive way of looking at things but if these crimes and maltreatment goes unseen then change will never come.
Content from Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, and others is beamed globally, that helps raise awareness, right?

They're trying to get into the "emotionally dragging you through the mud as much as possible" tv market. Seems in fashion to make your shows try to piss your viewers off as absolutely much as possible and get you emotionally involved in the characters to the point where you want to yell at them.
Don't know what my point is, I'm bitter and cynical and tired

You're not much to look at either.
* "buddy" is only half a word *

Hey my mere presence sends children crying, I'm not about to change a good thing
protaganis 03-14-2008, 11:07 AM Hey man, quit with the negative waves, Moriarty. Ya just gotta quit with the negative waves.
I've always felt that blending into the background was the best way to infiltrate "normal" society... That and looking shocked at the people running away from the sirens

Ditto. Some people should be taken out back and.... oh wait. Is this a family forum?

I'm with you - I can't watch it either - I'm like Radar O'Reilley from "M*A*S*H" - I can deal with "people bad stuff" but not animal bad stuff...and I have seen people go out of their way to hit an animal that was in the road, and I very nearly caught one, one day......I did call the police about it......we see it far too often.
I wonder if they will allow adoptions outside Arizona? I wouldn't mind having a small furry I could carry with me :-)
ChickWhoRips 03-14-2008, 01:38 PM I use to have two dogs that looked just like one of those 800. One was from Mexico and the other South Phoenix. We called them "The Mexican Twins". I would vouch for a Mexican dog any day. They may be a bit stubborn, but if I could adopt one of those 800 I would.

Glad to see I'm not alone. And I'm with LaceyMack on animal cruelty. If you're going to be cruel to another person, whatever. You're both thinking individuals, most of the time both parties are at fault for getting into it. But animals don't have the capacity to understand our world even though they've been hurled into it.
Animals are innocent, no matter how bloodthirsty they may seem. People are NOT innocent, no matter how pure they may seem.
protaganis 03-14-2008, 02:33 PM The more I see of humanity, the more I love my cats.
Pets won't kill you for money, they won't screw you over for a buck.
They have a quite honest and forthright behavior.
Only humanity has forgotten that we will all be judged on our merits and behavior.
Twilightzero 03-14-2008, 02:54 PM "The average dog is a nicer person than the average person." - Andy Rooney
Pets don't judge you. They just want simple things from you and they give you love in return. It doesn't matter what you've done, where you've been, how "good" you've been. You're great in their world and that's all that matters.
