Hey Funky, I guess since you're going to keep it now you might as well make the best of things. Anyway, the answer to your question is Indianapolis Auto Spa. They're located over off of Keystone near Broad Ripple. They had quoted me a price on the Wabesto sunroof at $1400 he said they don't do price breaks of two units but they do a price break on three units which would be a discount of $150 per unit off of the $1400 and its the Stratus 735 which is the 3rd biggest they have with dimensions of 33.5 x18.5 and that is powered roof with the inside manual sun shade and I'm told its the more delux roof without the bells and whistles. Craig, the sales manager of the shop whom I just got off the phone with said this sunroof has to used because of the ribs in the roof. To have a remote would be another $100, and to have an auto rain sensor the same. The roof has a memory and like two stop points before full open or you can push the button all the way and release and it will go full open. I liked what they were professing in the roof and I was just going to go with the simple install. They said they've done around 3 or 4 Elements in this area but I haven't seen any running around. They are certified from Wabesto to do their work and I'm pretty sure the guy I spoke with said they warranty the work for as long as you own the ride. Their number is: (317) 722-1034
Craig also said if you dropped it off on a Monday it would be ready on Wednesday. They said they would love to have our business and are ready at anytime. He also said this would be the same roof that they install in Toyota Camry's and the like.

Well, I just may think about doing that. Is anyone else interested in the area that we could get a little price break on it? What were your thoughts on doing this? I would hope there would be no water leak problems with it after paying that much! I'm always leary about aftermarket moonroofs.......let me know your thoughts on it. Thanks!

I'm definitely interested. I sent Dancetiludrop the info as well in a PM but I haven't heard back from him on it. I may have the funds to do this within a few days. I'm torn between wheels and and a roof. I may be able to do both depending on how far the wife's lips stick out when I tell her her about the roof. She's down on the other thing I'm doing already and knows about it. The price break would help me out alot as it would be real close to do the two things I want to do.

I forgot to mention that Craig said you would loose the upper storage box and typically you do. He also said if its that important, they could install the roof further back in order to keep it but again, you have to let them know what your priorities are. He said they will relocate any maplights and it the storage can be kept they will but more than likely it probably will go in order to give you the maximum exposure of the roof over the driving compartment. They do warranty it as long as you own the car but for a fee, it can be transferred to another owner.

Hey Chozen,

What type of wheels are you lookin at? I have a buddy who owns a shop and can get some decent deals on wheels. HE is located here in Chicago, if you want to take the trip up here I can take you over there.

As I stated before, Dance is interested as I am. They do warranty the work for as long as you own it and they do installs for most or a lot of dealerships here in the Indy area. I haven't seen or heard of any problems.
I really want to do this mod. I communicated with Dance this morning and he's going to check with a place up in Fort Wayne but they don't do the Wabesto and we've kinda made up in our mind that Wabesto is the way to go. All this said, everyone sleep on it and make a decision on what you're thinking or planning.

Well I just seen this thread so I'll let you guys know on the sunroof. There is one place here in FW that does webasto, so I want to compare prices first.

Accord I'll PM you.

Haven't heard anymore on this thread so I thought I'd chime in again. If the weather is right, this week, I'll be driving my E to Indy Auto Spa so they can show me exactly where the roof would sit, what I would loose as far as the upper storage console and the relocation of the map lights and dome. I can count on one hand how many times I've used the map lights since 2003 with two Elements now, so the loss would be no big deal really. Of course they say you never miss something until you no longer have access to it. Anyway, I want them to show me the logistics of the job, if they have any references (Element owners) that I can contact to see how they like theirs and if possible, allow me to take a look at theirs. Then, the final decision will be made, with or without anyone else. I thought having two more and everyone saving $150 would be a good thing but hey, it is what it is. My other thing I need to discuss with Craig is whether or not my roof rack is an issue. I don't think it would be since I've seen one or two others with them on but if it is, it'll go up on the "Trading Post". Can someone say there's my $150.00 group savings, at least.

Dance, you may want to give them a call and explain to them what you want exactly. I know what they said they install in the Element and they didn't mention any other type. It sounds like what they offer is what they have on hand, ready to go. Also the fact that since I made contact with them prior to our Fall Meet in 2006, and told them there were a couple of us interested, I've been the only one they've heard from. I have their number in a previous post in this same thread and Craig is the guy to talk to.

Funkytown, you still thinking on this? If you think this is something you want to do, what is your time table? I know Craig wouldn't need all three vehicles to do the savings but I'm sure some sort of commitment to doing the job would be needed or a return once all three have been done.

Peace!

Good luck with this guys, please post pics when done.

I think this is an exciting mod; not my thing (I'd rather have a carputer but I'm a geek) but I'll take a ride in any of your E's after this is done.

Geek aside you still need the sun in your face

My magical money tree is not growing right now, I think it's the thin air at 8200 feet.

I'll live vicariously through you guys. And Dance, I just sent 1/2 of my 2008 season ticket money in.

AAaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's all I'm gonna say. To be able to drive down the road and let God's ray of sun shine on your face. To let HIS wind come in and stroke your head. All I can say is God is good, all the time!

Those I have sent emails to, know what I'm talking about.
