I have just been inspecting my new arrival, a six month old EX. On looking under the hood I was sorry to see surface corrosion on aluminium parts, and begginings of red rust on the steering link arm, and bolt heads. Just spent 4 hrs. cleaning up and coating in corrosion protector. Has anyone else had this problem? :?

Eeek! Thats doesn't sound right! I haven't heard of it yet.

I know when I was looking for a used E there was a dealer who was selling E's that apparently sat in some flood water for a bit. I'm wondering if you might have gotten a hold of one of those. I'm not real familiar if this could cause the rust this quick but might be something to check on. Either way this is a bummer especially since you are in the UK and had to go through the trouble of shipping it and all.

Is your Honda warranty valid over there? There should be some coverage I would think for premature rusting, especially within the 1st year.

I don't think this car has stood in flood water, as all the wheels & axles are fine. I suspect that it got doused in winter road salt, and only got washed off on the outside! Otherwise I am delighted with this unique (to the UK) vehicle.
