I will be getting a 2005 Honda Element EX in about a week and I wanted to install a Metra iPod Honda Adapter - Model #: MET AIPHD03ID (http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=185489). I was wondering a couple of things.
Since Metra doesn't seem to have a website I was wondering if it was compatible with the iPod Classic 80GB, and also if there was a better option.
It seems like an elegant option.
Also, where exactly does the cord come out to plug the ipod into?

It resembles the Blitzsafe adapter that will only work in an LX (I think). If you search the forums for Blitzsafe you should find some info on it. The white part of the plug in the picture fits into the CD changer port in the back of the HU. But it is tricky because '05's have two different connections and you have to pull out the HU before you order anything to make sure you are getting the right thing.

But if you are getting an EX, there is already an AUX jack next to the power outlet above the glove box, so that makes thing easier and cheaper to hook up your iPod. You just need a 3.5" jack (I think that's the right size).

You might want to look into a new HU that will control the iPod. Or a Harmon Kardon Drive and Play.

Ex has an 1/8" jack, I think that's 3.5mm. If you're looking to install an Ipod controller, check out the reviews on the devices. I was looking to do this for my fiance about a year ago and determined that an aux port would be more useful.
