We've added a person to the "maybe list"; Colorado may be represented by the dual personality of Alchemy (formerly "Toastedreambox" ).:cool:

Alchemy is also a firefighter with backcountry rescue skills which would come in handy on "meat on a stick" night (a.k.a everything is on fire !!!! night . . . ) and fishing Miss Ellie out of the Snake River after she "accidentally" bikes in while organizing midnight submarine race viewing expeditions from the campsite.

Don't forget . . . if you are booking into Flagg Ranch and want to camp with the group in the shady, "fun" end of the campground call and speak with Jennifer @ 1-800-443-2311.

Thank you Box - Your concerns for my safety are most appreciated! :)
I'll do my best to stay out of trouble but you know how I get on these big trek camping gigs.
Safety is our Motto
And just in case I do need to be fished outta the drink...
let's be sure that Obi-the-Dog's Search & Rescue~Water Sports Action Squad is on patrol. :D

Looks like there is still some good sites left. I am still working on getting Doc Farther and our two additonal Corgis there. But Doc tells me if she doesn't attend this art showing that the art group will "shun" her. That is all the excuse I would need, but she values her participation in this group and I have to respect her opinion.

I understand Doc Farther's predicament.
What about Jack and Rosie, what's thier take on this?

A few more additions this week !! :D

1) We have it on good authority that Gisele ( probably attracted by all the great EOC dogs that we have signed up . . . ) will attempt a major cross country road trip and join the fun.

2) Mrs and Mr Anthony337 (a 2 Element family) along with the Dog Mafia (Italian Greyhounds . . .) have signed up with the So Cal gang :)

Also have gotten some info for updates on boats, bikes, # of people from existing attendee's

So what's the big deal then?
Drive for 7 hrs - sleep for 7 hrs - drive for 7 hrs and so on.
Heck- you could be in Jellystone within a week or two. ;-)

PS: Any other best buds or travel companions that you can bribe, threaten or kidnap to help with the driving?

Perfect accomadations for a one nighter.

Yup, my husband and I are both taking our E's- which means we each drive our own...no one to take turns with, no problem though! We used to do caravans with car clubs and my husband has done a ton of road tripping- its not bad.

I was wondering how you guys would fair with hauling four people, two dogs and all that camping equipment (I saw some of what you'll be bringing in the Hikin-Bikin-Campin thread) in one Element. :-?

The solution - Take two Elements! :D

This Double-E approach elevates your stature in the Utah to Wyoming cattle drive. You guys could be Trail Boss in the Caravan!
It's a thankless job - similair to herding cats.

Haha!

Well, it was either take both or we buy a huge rack and get a hitch and a hitch mounted rack- the top rack wont fit under to access our parking garage- thus we'd have to assemble it and load/unload and such out front...which doesn't sound fun. ....besides, I'd pout that my E wasn't there.

Come on you procrastinators - get your campsite reservations nailed down.

And save your money folks...
trying to bribe the authorities is a complete waste of time.

I thought that by offering up a couple of designer beers it might get me one night in a cabin and away from Box4Rox and his Teardrop Trailer Museum.
(that thing attracts more attention than a fox in a hen-house)

Look what my efforts with bribery got me - relocated to campsite #53 - right between Djembe and SPDRCR5!
Not that I mind thier company at all - they're both great guys but I lost two big green bottles of Grolsch lager in the process.

On the good side this means that I'll be available as a gopher to Larry the Omelet King and be able to keep an eye on Djembe should he decide to go cavorting off into the woods to greet grizzly bears.

Yes, Pierre . . . you don't have to have an E to camp with us (I won't . . . and I believe Miss Ellie's niece is coming in a non-E ride as well). :)

Alas, we are heading through Yellowstone and the Tetons in 2 weeks. We will be back home by by August 3. However anyone camping at Flagg Ranch should take a walk to Hukcleberry Hot Springs. About 2.5 miles each way, lots of wildlife, no hills and a great dip at the turnaround point. Enjoy!!

Thanks for the tip !! Let us know how the weather is and post some pics if you get a chance . . . if you hit the Hot Springs in Flagg , a pic of that would be great as well !!

Look's like we pulled the Final Role Call trigger a little bit quick.
There's 4 less sodbusters and thier Prairie Schooners in the ranks of our EOC Wagon Train to Flagg Ranch.

Those of us that can go must make it up to those of us that can't by having four times more fun.

We may recruit some late comers or those non EOC Flagg camping buddies.
There maybe even some E owners there that don't know about the club.
We can drop notes on E's we see in the park.
The more the merrier!
The Role isn't final until the thin man sings(Ric).:D

A bit of a stealth swimming hole- Crawfish Creek/Moose Falls 2 miles inside the south entrance to YNP. Park on the right (E?) side of the road and walk down below the bridge. Moose Falls is a "double" falls. The surface water is butt-cold and the underground water that comes out and joins the falls about halfway down is warm. The pool below is a nice mix.

Thank's for the heads up Zinguy.
Moose Falls look's to be about 5 miles up the road from us at Flagg Ranch.
My Yellowstone map shows a picnic area there too.

Very kewl!

I'll be there if I can stay awake that late. Tomorrow I have a 5:00 AM "Call-time" then I have to pack up my toys and ship them back to NoHo and catch the "Red-eye" Flight back to LAX. (yuck).

Is this the new Yellowstone Thread or are we still using the other Thread ?

Negative - use the other thread Jet.
This one's really only for Roll Calls, cancellations, and such.
Now that Box has posted the Final Roll Call he'll probably be putting this thread to bed.

Trigger isn't pulled . . . . Sorry if the post wasn't clear . . .

Anyone/everyone is welcome to attend, just can't guarantee you'll get to camp with the group ( be on the map). . . The only thing we're trying to do is finalize the group camp at Flagg . . . Jennifer needs to have the list sent up to Flagg about a month ahead of time to make sure we stay together.

Remember Flagg DOES NOT preassign campsites or RV sites when you make a reservation . . . Jennifer (who does not work at Flagg but instead works for the Corporate/reservation services in AZ) has kind of gone out on a limb to help us out and we need to extend her the courtesy of doing this and not run her through a last minute chinese fire drill messing with the campsites.

I'd say we have about a week or so more to finalize the Flagg group list . . . I'm very sure if there are any walk-ons or last minutes adds they'll get a campsite very close by . . . I'm hoping they'll leave the Stevie S. and Colin.sama sites open just for this purpose . . . :)

Received an E-mail from Flagg regarding the cut-off for the group reservation:

The attendance in Teton/Yellowstone is way off the norm due to the Gas vs Big RV phenomenon so that is GOOD thing for visitors this year . . . less crowds. :D

Looks like there won't be a problem if anyone wants to add into Flagg as a walk-on or with a last minute reservation. :)

now the sort of bad news . . .

The cut-off date to be part of the EOC group and receive the $5 per night discount is July 9th . . . after that you may or may not be near the group (but you will get a campsite) depending on the campground population.

Here's what it looks like 1 day before the Flagg discount expires and they turn in the final "group" list to the camp office at Flagg.

We added E_BikeR from Utah !! Welcome aboard . . .
