I am going to get 2 pairs of speakers to replace the factory speakers in my DX. Do i also need to get a wire harness or anything additional besides the speakers ? I'm thinking of doing the install myself.

You need to get the Honda wire harness for the speakers. This will allow you to attach the speakers to the pre-wired locations. Its very easy to do.

I got mine from Circuit City for about $10 a piece. Also bought some Infinity Reference speakers along with them. 8)

Well you don't have to get the speaker adapters but if you don't you'll have to cut the termination block off of the existing wiring and probably make some extensions yourself.

All the adapters do is convert standard spade type connectors to the manufactured male/female coupling type that Honda uses.

Frankly, I have no idea why manufacturers go through the trouble of doinf these funky connectors, it seems like stupidity to me.

the70straveler,

If you buy speakers from CF, they'll give the wire harness for free.

Just list make and model of your vehicle.

Take care,
