Oh yes, I have been zapped when buffing ICE off my unpainted plastic panels. I have only used ICE one time so far, about 1 month ago and the panels still look good. My problem in the past was with the streaking after a rain with other products like Vinylx by Lexol and 303 Aerospace protectorant.
I was able to eliminate most all zaps, when I eventually realized that I needed to stay grounded to the car. So, how to stay grounded ? Easy...just buff with the cloth in one hand, and with the other hand, keep contact with the car. Just touch the car on any of the metal (not plastic panel or glass parts) while buffing. It is very simple, so give it a try. You will get zapped much less often. I like the end result with ICE on my unpainted plastic panels. Even after several rain storms, I haven't noticed streaking. Not sure how it will do on the metal surfaces. The container reads it is a "polish" as opposed to a "wax".
Best wishes, Dave in Virginia
