When I make a sharp turn going over a bump I hear a solid popping noise coming from the "passenger side". I think it is coming from around the suicide doors or thereabouts. I was turning into the gas station tonite and POP! It also does it every morning when I turn into the garage entrance to work. It occurs when the steering wheel is turned sharply, simultaneously going over the hump. This sound familiar to anyone. It is going into the shop come Monday and I have a list. So far worn front tires after only 3,200 miles, dash rattle , and now this. :?

I got the same popping sound, but it seems to have stopped since they replaced my steering rack.
I also have the same problem with worn tires. The dealer tried to tell me it was normal wear, but I've never had tires wear out so fast on a car before. Please keep us informed if they replace your tires. Thanks.

The popping noise sounds like if someone had come over to the side rear glass window on the passenger side and give one solid loud knock with a clenched fist. When I first heard it that is exactly what I thought it was. I was turning into the garage at work at heard the noise and figured a co-worker had snuck up beside the E and gave me a thump on the glass. But that wasn't it at all.

Mine did the same. My problem was the latch assembly on the passenger doors. Get some white lithium grease and coat the latch assembly good! You can also use this for the rear hatch assembly as well.
