I have been considering putting wider wheels/tires on my E.
I live in Florida and believe wider wheels/tires may be safer to drive with in the rain. If I am wrong, please correct me.
I don't think I want to lower it yet though.

So, keeping that in mind...

Does any one have any suggestions?
I know nothing about wheels/tires. If it's possible, please include links and/or pics.

wider does look better
but actually as far as rain goes wider hydroplains easier if you do go wider look for something with good watershedding ability like aquatreads from goodyear if your concerned about rain performance

Right - look for tires that have tread patterns that open from groove to groove, and out of the last rib at the sidewall. As the tire hits the water, the water has to have a clear path to exit. Read up at http://www.tirerack.com/ for info on this.

No, wider tires do not handle better. I have a Wrangler with WAY oversized tires and lift (looks cool). It's great for off-roading, but when it rains i don't drive it because if I hit any kind of standing/deep water they float.

main deal is what you want but wide do look cool just drive careful 8)

I think I'll just lower it a bit and put on some sort of water cutting tires with nice, not gawdee, looking wheels.

When lower (maybe 2inches) is handling affetced much?
