: Don't Grab the Wrong Can!!!
dancetiludrop 04-19-2008, 01:46 AM Washing the windows after a car was late at night and grabbed the wrong can!!!
Needless to say my windows look very "wet" and will shine for around 7-10 days!
....... .............. .................
(for the record tho....they shouldn't make these cans look so similar )
dancetiludrop 04-19-2008, 01:48 AM Also, it was only about 1/2 a window before I realized it was the wrong can....the smell kinda gave it away
BigAl205 04-19-2008, 04:02 AM Nice shiny windows and clear tires.

ramblerdan 04-19-2008, 01:26 PM Clear tires might be nice. I heard that Honda used a bad batch of tire air back in '05, and we could check for faulty air through clear tires. Remember ... always use Honda brand tire air! Now with 78% nitrogen!
T Mac 04-19-2008, 01:28 PM Can't tell you how many times I've almost done that. I have 3-4 cans of tire shine and only one of Invisible Glass (since I go through it so fast). Yellow caps!!!!
ramblerdan 04-19-2008, 01:30 PM Stoner products always mess me up.
... What were we talking about?
aerodynamicallychallenged 04-19-2008, 01:50 PM Do you have window tint film on your windows?
Hopefully It won't affect it.
Old Blue 04-19-2008, 02:33 PM Stoner products always mess me up.

Damn cookies... :)
steamloco76 04-19-2008, 04:15 PM I use both products and nearly made the mistake of spraying More Shine onto my instrument cluster! Lucky the can slipped in my hand and I then saw the label.
Brawsie 04-19-2008, 10:44 PM That is too funny Dance. Put down the pipe.:-P
dancetiludrop 04-20-2008, 01:27 AM You should have seen the look on my face while I was wiping the tire shine all over the windshield! Big 'ol smudge marks all over....I was like WTFrack (for the BG fans).
I do have tint but I quickly grabed the correct can and went over the windows a few times to get all the tireshine off....looks like all is well.
Sometimes you just have to laugh at how stupid you are
BigAl205 04-20-2008, 01:46 AM Don't feel bad. This idiot I used to work with was checking his oil during lunch one day and saw it was low, so he put a couple of quarts of 10W40...into the radiator.
pipbear333 04-21-2008, 07:12 AM Thank god your not a member of the TRP Mensa club. We would be shamed.

Use to work in a Gas station and someone came in and say their radiator never fills up, they were putting coolent into the Engine block.
tkobrian 04-25-2008, 06:06 PM The mrs had her car Jiffy Lubed a few months ago. They vac up all the kiddie crud so against my wishes she goes there. Apparently some dofus used one of the dirty shop oil rags to clean her window. After her 2 tries with window cleaner there was still an oily film. So I just washed 'em with dawn dish liquid and was done with it.
dancetiludrop 04-25-2008, 08:47 PM Good tip on the dish soap....I've used that on oil spots on clothes before the wash and it's worked too! :D
admctm 04-25-2008, 09:30 PM I did the same thing last fall, in the dark grabbed the wrong can,had it all over drivers side window, lots of choice words,I thought I had messed up my tint, needless to say I pay alot closer attention to the cans.
lwclancers 04-25-2008, 11:55 PM Reading is overrrated
So is the BIG TIRE on the can....:D:D
(for the record tho....they shouldn't make these cans look so similar )

Thanks I'll have to remember that next time one our "techs" splash
oil on me.
tkobrian 04-29-2008, 12:05 PM A little dab of simple green just before washing also does wonders on oil spots on clothes. I just didn't clean my wife's windows with it 'cause I didn't want it to strip all the wax off as it ran down the car.
I throw all my shop rags in a bucket with 50:50 simple green overnight, add more water & stir it around w/a broom handle. It gets a lot of the surface grease out but not ALL the black stains...but that really doesn't matter on rags. :)
