Finally... a day over 75 here in Iowa. No rain. No snow. Just a beautiful day. Got a chance to give the E a proper washing. The water was still beading nicely, so instead of the ICE Paste, I gave the ICE detailing spray a try. I was very happy with with it. Especially how it helped bring the luster back the black plastic areas without a white residue. So thanks to all the folks advocating that product line.

Also, got my MagnetBra installed. I didn't want to mess with trying to do it on a cold day, so I've waited several months to finally install it. It looks okay. I don't know that I'll keep it on, except for long trips. I wanted to get installed today as I've got a 12 hour roundtrip to Milwaukee this weekend for a wedding. My biggest complaint about the MagnetBra (sor far) is that it took FOREVER to get it lined up correctly. Either it's crooked or my E is, but I finally got it where it was going to work. Took about an hour messing with it though, which kept me from getting to my Home Depot Grill Guards. Oh well. Maybe next time.

I like how it looks though, and the wife likes that she doesn't have to have it driving around town. So, hopefully it won't scratch the heck out of the hood while it's on.

Pics taken late in the day. Sorry for the poor lighting.

Nice wash job. A comment on the MagnaBra. I had one and it did a pretty good job. I know exactly what you mean about getting it lined up straight. Took me an hour I guess to get mine on. In any case, I left mine on for about a year, all summer, fall, winter, and just took it off this spring. I feared that over the year dirt had gotten behind it and was working like sandpaper, so it thought I'd take it off for cleaning. There was no scratching underneath, but it somehow stuck to the hood and getting it off was tricky. There was no paint damage, but there is some sort of residue left that I think I can buff off. Also, the black strip that runs around the lip of the hood got trashed. So, I guess my advice is not to leave the bra on for long periods of time. I threw mine away becasue it just got ruined when I took it off. I liked the look when it was on and did a great job protecting the hood during my road trip cross country last year. Good luck with it.

Thanks gang. I appreciate the advice. The Mrs. doesn't really like it, so the plan is to put it on for extended trips (which don't occur very often) and leave it off for her in-town travel. So it will be off most of the time. Storing it could be interesting, I'll have to think about that. I'd prefer it to retain it's shape, so I don't know that I want to roll it again. We'll see how it looks when I get back this weekend and I take it off to see if it dinged the hood up any.
