So I'm spring cleaning, and after taking out many garbage bags I decide to not be lazy and grab the kitchen garbage as well. This may have well saved either my life or myself a lot of bodily harm.
I live on a main road...which is usually not too busy and I have gotten into the habit of standing at the edge of my driveway to have a cig and watch the cars go by. This location is also where I put the garbage to the curb. Long story short...as I'm walking toward the garbage I hear a BANG. I look up to see a cargo van driving on the other side of the road sparking like mad, and the front left tire and rim completely MISSING! Just as WTF comes out of my mouth I spot the tire...bouncing RIGHT AT MY LESS THAN WEEK OLD ELEMENT!!!
Needless to say, I cringed in the extreme and watched helplessly as the tire started to bounce...still rolling...through the bushes at the property line and no joke no exaggeration the thing bounces just high enough to match the roof line of the rear of my E and missed it by about 2 feet. Had I been standing where I usually do, or had made it to put the garbage in the can it would have smacked right into me.
I got lucky, it kept bouncing and heading toward the now pulled over van, and as soon as it bounced over my mailbox it just rolled across the street and came to rest about 20 feet behind the van.
God was looking out for me and my E last night.
