: Reverse Wire?

I've been searching the forum and Google-ing the reverse wire location on the E, and I can't seem to find a solid answer. The nearest I've gotten is "near the fusebox," but which wire? Pics are more than welcome!

I ask in preparation for an AVIC-D3 installation, and regardless of it's necessity, I'd like to hook it up if the manual recommends it. I intend on installing a reverse cam in the future, but also understand it's need relative to position while navigating.

As always, thanks forum!

I believe it's just referring to your backup lights. Thats the only thing that would make sense. You should be able to piggyback for that out of the fuseblock.
Besides, if you ask him nicely, Twilightzero has a shop manual that he'd could be bribed into bringing to next Saturdays meet.

Besides, you could always hook up the camera activation to a dash switch, get a higher end light filtering camera and be able to pop it on as a rear view mirror substitute.

According to the manual, in the under dash fuse/relay box, it is the GRN/BLK wire and is labeled P1 and/or D8 at the box.

I will verify that you can indeed catch the reverse wire in the underdash fuse box. I used it on my D3 install :D

ROCK!

I placed the order for the D3 today, so it should be here Monday. I'm crazy excited for this install. Plus, the headunit should be fun, too. :D

And how lovely your robot is too :D

If you still want me to bring the manual just let me know, it's nothing to throw it in. Can't wait for Ax Man! :D
