I've tried everything and can't get these mats clean. I even tried Bug & Tar Remover. No luck. Car wash, laundry detergent, bleach, household cleaning products nothing gets the ground in dirt out, even when using a stiff nylon brush. As a last resort I'm contemplating the use of SOS/steel wool, maybe even a wire brush.
Does anyone have a method/product for getting the gray all season mats clean?
That must be some seriously glued-on dirt.
We just use diluted simple green or fantastic and a wheel brush.

Maybe a high pressure water sprayer?
I would say a garden hose but from the way you're talkin' you need something with more bang.

I've been cleaning them bi-weekly or so with a garden hose and a mix of soap and water but the gray mat is now, in parts, a shade of dirty gray/beige. It's really dirty under the pedals on the smooth part of the mat. It looks like road tar or blacktop sealer. And like I said, bi-weekly cleanings, it's not like I didn't keep up on it. I noticed the staining getting gradually worse over time and now I'm trying to reverse it. Guess I should have acted sooner. The mats are 3 years old I could just get new ones.

My mats are the same way and they are only a couple of months old. If anybody can help. It would make me a happy guy.

I think they get discolored and no amount of cleaning will do anything. You might try some type of dressing that would dye them black...

I have the black Honda all weather mats. I have had some look using Mothers tire and rubber cleaner. Followed with detergent and water.

Yea Freakin' Hah!!! Picked up some Westley's Bleche-Wite, that did the trick. Sprayed on, let it sit, scrubbed with a brush, rinsed, let dry completely, and repeat. Thousand times better than before. Not perfect but better than they have been. Still one stained spot under the pedals. But everything else is back to a uniform color. Wish I used that stuff from the start:neutral:. Now I just need a rubber conditioner. Thinking Back To Black but that might be to slick on the mats. Any thoughts?

If the mats were black and not gray I'd try it!:D
