I just switch out my stock goodyear Wranglers 215/70R/16 for some Yoko, Geolander HT-S 215/70R/16
Why does the Yoko's look so much bigger and fill the wheel well better.
Is there a size difference between manufacturers on the same size product?

I have not check my speedometer with my GPS yet, I'll do that this weekend.
My Speedometer and GPS were identical with the stock Goodyears.
Any thoughts on this?

Yup. Just like shoes and clothes are different "sizes" between brands, so do tires. Most manufactures give specification charts to avoid problems. The stock tires run "skinny" for a 215/70/16, as compared with others tires.

It can happen within a brand too...A GoodYear model "X" may be larger/wider/taller than a GoodYear model "Z," but their model "Q" may be wider but shorter. It is usually not different enough to cause a problem though.

A sharper "squarer" tread near the edge of the new tire may cause it to appear larger too.

I doubt you'll notice much of a difference in spedometer GPS reading.

I did notice that the Geolanders were "squarer" than the wranglers. I guess the squarer edge is the difference. Thanks for the information!
(Here comes the jokes on square tires )
