What do you use to get wax out of the creases of the car (door handle, etc?) I can't seem to fit anything in there.

It works great for waxy crevices. bofus 05-07-2008, 09:42 PM I use the spouse's toothbrush  Regards, Brandon Whiteside 05-08-2008, 01:02 AM Use the corner of a towel. sabbfann 05-08-2008, 01:56 AM I saw a small detailing tool at Pep Boys that was made for this purpose. I think it had a small bristle brush on one end and on the other, an angled soft rubber tip. I guess a Q-tip would work just the same... 1AB JAG 05-08-2008, 11:15 AM Careful with a tooth brush, they have nylon bristles that can scratch paint, if you apply too much pressure. It's best to wet the brush or area to be brushed with something like Meguiars Quick Detailer. It work as a lubricant and also softens dried on wax. With a name like turdbuglar are you sure :D protaganis 05-08-2008, 02:02 PM Jackhammer, run it in small bursts:razz: Seriously though, check at bed bath and beyond, they have some cake tools (I kid you not) they're silicon and the are perfect for detailing small crevices in vehicles. Home Depot also has a grout tool that works okay, although I've found you have to thin the blade a bit. weekendwarrior 05-08-2008, 02:03 PM Sometimes you can take detailer's clay, and make a pointy edge / corner with the clay bar to fit down in the crevace. You then spray the lubricant that comes with the clay into the crevace, and use the clay to remove the wax. ORANGEE 05-08-2008, 02:39 PM As one or two of the others have said..........toothbrush weather it is the spouses, the ex's or an old one, make sure it's soft fly104857 05-08-2008, 09:36 PM Soft & Wet toothbrush. TonyS 05-09-2008, 12:33 PM how about an old fashioned Q-Tip ..... turdburglar 05-09-2008, 09:32 PM Thanks for all the suggestions.. will start with the Q-Tip idea, though I'm not sure it will reach where I want it. Tried the corner of a towel, couldn't get it! TonyS 05-12-2008, 08:19 AM ...and they do make Qtips with longer sticks, I think they are with the meidcal/first aid stuff... Eww-an E 05-13-2008, 02:35 AM I just use a detail brush, which really just looks like an small paint brush cut down to about an inch. | |
