Where to put it? My wife is bugging me to get the XM back in to her car.
I've got a Pioneer DEH-P3000IB HU I just finished putting in a couple hours ago but when I was looking around for a place to install the XM Receiver (GEX-P920XM) I didn't see any great places to park the receiver that would allow me to easily hide and run the cables. We've only had the Element for a couple months now so I'm still unfamiliar with pretty much everything in it.
Anyone out there use a similar set up? Where did you place your receiver?
PS: previous threads were very helpful when I went to install the HU. Thanks.

I'm looking for the same thing.
Locations I'm considering
1) Under front seats
2) behind rear passenger side cargo panel, replacing the Honda box
The second one becomes more attractive if you are going to install the Honda wiring for the trailer hitch since it requires removing that panel anyway. If it were not for that I'd stick with the front seats.
Search for the hidden antenna trick to see how to hide the XM antenna under the rear plastic cladding on the roof.

I don't want to run cables that far, it's more work than I wanna do. I was thinking about taking out the cubby hole under the HU and putting the receiver there but I'm having trouble finding some sort of plate to put in front of the receiver hiding it from view. Any thoughts?

I'm just going to mount the HU right where the stock one is. For the modules several people have recommended the space below the HVAC controls. I just had to pull that panel for the Honda security module install. If your curious how to pull that panel download the PDF for the security system and it details how to remove it.
If you decide to run the XM to the rear and do the hidden antenna trick download the trailer hitch instructions, they detail how to remove the passenger side panels from the front door all the way to the back hatch. Since I'm doing the trailer hitch wiring, I'm going to run the XM and Nav antenna back ther at the same time.
One not on the panel removals, DO NOT USE A SCREWDRIVER. I got impatient and the plastic is way soft and ended up with some small pry marks. The panel acts like it won't budge but it will if you firmly pull from the top over the vents. If I were doing it again I'd try one of those plastic panel tools but even that might leave marks so be careful and don't rush.
