: The E was designed for who?

Made a short road trip with the family from Alexandria VA to Petersburg VA this past Saturday. On the way home that evening, as I was leaving the parking lot of a shopping plaza, a husband, wife, and their 70+ year old mother were crossing to go to their car. Being the courteous E driver that I am, I stopped and gave the right-of-way; the husband and wife crossed quickly and their mother was moving as quickly as possible, always looking at the us in my E.
After she crossed, I rolled down my passenger window and my girlfriend told her, "Please take you time." She replied, "I'm alright. I was just looking at your Element. I have a green one."

The E was designed for who? I still waiting to see a 20-something in one.

Where are my Northern VA E owners?!

We had a similar encounter last week. We were admiring an E in the parking lot at Target from afar (yet to get ours), and its family arrived while we were looking. They were about done transferring stuff from the cart, and a tall young-20's guy was heading towards the driver's door. I quipped, "How do you like your Element? You certainly fit the demographic!"

To which he replied, "Oh, this is my dad's!"

Dad and I had a good chat.

I am here in Alexandria as well. I have an EX 4x4 SOP. I too have noticed that most of the element drivers are over 40. I have only seen one driven by a younger person. My parents (my dad is 68 ) went to test drive one this weekend. They live in Texas and want an E too.

While driving home this weekend from work I came around a bend in the road to see a SLM headed my way.....I start to put my window down so that I can wave...and low and behold it is a lil' ole' lady (who looks to be about eighty years old).....I still would hav ewaved, but it looked as if she could barely see over the steering wheel.

With your post it is now official.....I am driving the granny mobile!

To be more specific... I live in the BelleView neighborhood just south of Old Town.

I know there is another SOP E in my neighborhood, closer to the Potomac.

There's a couple of Es in my hood. We all have insurance checks because our cars were flooded in hurricane Isabel. I lost a Toyota MR2 turbo. :(

Across the street from me there is a blue Element. I saw it driving around and decided to wave to the driver. It's an old, grey-haired, bearded, hippie type guy. He didn't wave back. I see him occasionally. He pretends not to care that we both drive Elements. Although, he did go out of his way to park next to me at a town hall meeting last week.

I installed the sun visors and the chrome exhaust finish to make my E stand out a bit from the others in the neighborhood. I really want the fog lights, though. That is my next step. I can't stand having those round cut-outs in the bumper with nothing in them. I read the install instructions for the fog lights. I think I am going to have a dealer do it.

ME!
it was made for me!!!
I am the 20 something that you guys are searching for! I am single, I am under 80 (ha ha!), I have no kids, and I spend a lot of time outdoors! (Really, Honda should get in touch with me to do their commercial work for them if they are trying to market the E! for my demographic!)
All my friends love/sweat my E!, but with the job market being so competitive, it's a little harder to buy brand new cars with the jobs that most of my friends have.
Ah, for now they will just have to continue lusting over mine.
(I have sold 2 for my dealership already though one to a friends sister---36 with 3 kids, and one to my cousin + her hubby 28/28 with one kid on the way!!)

28 y.o. male. Scientist. Unmarried, although my girlfriend and her son (now 5 yr old) have been living with me for almost 3 years. Avid mountain biker, dog lover, backpacker, skier, musician and all-'round hauler of "stuff". I practically lived out of my car every weekend while I was in college. If only the Element had been around then. Of course, I never could have afforded the luxury of a brand new car back then, so I suppose that's the one place honda missed the mark.

I am single, work in IT, active lifestyle (MTB, skiing, etc), look and act like target age group, BUT i am middle aged.
The E will fit the target demographics in about 5 years, when 20-somethings can afford to buy used E's for $5K. Meanwhile, boomers can have it to themselves. :D

Now then, 27y/o computer consultant here...only guy in my circle with a new car (except another consultant with a TSX). Gotta say though, 90% of the E's I see are driven by folks at least one generation up from me

I'm 33 and my wife is 26 - She picked the E when we were shopping to replace our recently deceased GMC Jimmy.

I originally was CR-V shopping - Then my wife veto'ed the CR-V on account of it's lack of full leather interior. We started to look at the Pilot and then she saw the E and said "What's THAT?"

Our saleman opened up the E and she saw the rubbery floor and the super-cool seats and she pretty much decided right there that we were getting the E.

At the time I really wanted the Pilot for the leather and the navigation option - but since then I've found a suitable replacement for the E and I'm lovin' every minute of drivin it!

When I was 23 I drove a brand new Mustang GT convertible. Who says 20 year olds can't afford new cars? :P

I don't think Honda advertises the E enough. I saw an ad on TV the other day and it advertised the Pilot, Odyssey and CRV. Where was the E? What? It doesn't rate? :?: I don't think a lot of younger people know about the Element.

The other day I went to get my hair done and showed two of the 20-Something hairdressers my Element. They were very impressed. Both had just bought brand new Hyundais. One of them paid a grand more for her Santa Fe than I did for my E and it had 2WD and wasn't nearly as nice. They both loved the doors, interior and stereo. I popped an Audioslave CD in the stereo to demonstrate the sound quality and they literally stood there with their jaws half open. I said "Honda built this car for YOU..so don't tell anyone I'm 40 with 2 kids". :D

40-yr old DINK here. Of the few Elements I've seen in town, only one was driven by a guy who fits the target demographic - and its an SOP.

There's a lady who, I think, works at the library and drives a Silver EX. Haven't had an opportunity to meet her, but I'd guess she's close to 50 and is very friendly-looking.

I drove home from work Friday in the lane next to an older (maybe 60) guy, also with a Silver (DX) Element. He had a whole collection of cool stickers on the back glass. We drove side-by-side for probably 2-3 miles - it was kinda like a mini-caravan!

Talked to a lady who appeared to be around the mid seventies at a mall parking lot. She has a silver E and loves it.

I thought the same thing..where are the twenty somethings...but being an early 40 something the E brings me back to the raod trip days in my 20's. But instead of roadtrips to concerts and the mall/mets games we now load up the E with homemade beer Supertramp CDs and head to my camp in the Adirondacks. Not with the family (the family goes in our 99Astro) the same friends I had for the old road trips are still tripping with me now!.......

I fit the profile. 23 yr old male, married, very active lifestyle, 2 dogs, love to go on road trips, always need to pack my gear in my car, but never had enough space until now!

God i love the Element. What an awesome job by Honda!
