Is there an interface that will allow the Element sc steering wheel controls to work a Kenwood receiver? Crutchfield says no.

thank you!
I looked elsewhere on this forum to find it is the green/red wire that is run from the steering wheel. Not sure where the best place is to tap into this, but I am still looking.

Best place to tap into it is right off of the backside of the radio harness in the car behind the stereo.

I have an older PAC SWI ALP. THe previous unit before the SWI jack. Its for an alpine unit. I read the instructions and it seems that you can hook to the brown wire to ground and the white wire to the green with red stripe. But then it says some models with a mode button(which I do have) can either have no resister between or lists two other resistors. Well I opted for no resistor. programed the pac unit which went exactly as noted on the instructions. plugged it into the back of my unit and it doesn't work. Anyone able to give advice on this?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like the same installation as with my Pioneer. It listed the three different resistor options as well. I tried it first without using any resistor at all, and mine worked. If yours didn't, try each resistor option until it works - that's what I had to do in a friend's Ridgeline (which ended up requiring one of the resistors installed).

Bought the resistors. Hopefully one night this week I can get back in there and get it working. thanks for all the input.

got them to work last night. didn't need the resistor. Just had a bone head moment and must have knocked the head unit selector off of one cuz it was on 2. So back to alpine, reprogrammed and working fine. Actually works better on the element than it did in the toyota. thanks for the help.
