: Ipod connection

Hi to all.

I'm a brand new forum member. I just purchased a brand new silver '08 EX 5- speed AT last week. I love it so far.

I've got a question for you people who may know what I would like to know about the AUX connection port on the passenger side of the IP. I have an Ipod Mini - not the very latest model variation but the one just before that. I would like to know exactly what hardware I need to connect my Ipod to the AUX port and what, if anything, I need to do otherwise to play my music through my Element's speaker system.

All my songs on the Ipod are in the native Itunes format, not plain MP3's, and I wonder if that affects anything as well. I assume that that means I have to select and otherwise control everything from the Ipod itself, with no chance of doing anything with the Element's own sound system controls, except volume.

I expect one of you must know all about this stuff. Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
David

P.S. A little OT I know, but I'm fairly pleased that I just got about 20MPG on my very first tank of gas in all-city driving; a little better than I expected, and I hope it only gets better with break-in.

All you should need is an auxiliary wire that is 3.5mm on both ends. It will sound OK, but if you want the best sound, I found a Belkin Ipod adapter for around $30 that takes the signal to true digital. This plugs into the cigarette adapter slot and also into the Aux port. This is the best option. That is all you should need.
