It happened on J Turner Butler blvd eastbound between A1A and Hodges blvd. The afternoon sun was shining bright on the dash which made the pics difficult to get but I figured it'd be a bad idea to put up my sunshade while driving.

So... this car has just blown my mind. Aside from routine maintenance I've had to replace the cooling fan motor, the blower motor, the serpentine belt, the motor mounts have just recently gone out (they're on order), some bulbs here and there and wiper blades. Except for two family trips, one to the Grand Canyon and one to Cincinnati, all of these miles have been done in the Jacksonville area. I estimate I've burned at least 9000 gallons of gas and used more than 180 quarts of oil. How's that for a carbon footprint. It's never broken down. Even when the belt broke it didn't really break, it just frayed a little. I still finished my day running calls and replaced it later. It's never been in an accident... well... a couple of people have bumped into me but they were going so slow you can't tell.

If I think of anything else I guess I'll have to add it later, I'm having a really hard time thinking of anything else relevant. Needless to say I couldn't be happier with this car. And I figured it's about time I trim down my sig.

I'm picturing you driving down the road, stopping every mile to take a pic...What FUN!:D

I was looking at the speedometer pics, noticing how fast you were going, scrolling down... I kinda expected the picture after 199,999 to be your airbag deploying. Glad it wasn't. :)

That's a helluva lot of miles, 14 years after buying my 4Runner, I'm just about to hit 140,000.

Thats wonderful, a good inspiration for the rest of us.

Please post your story to the Honda Mile Makers site (http://automobiles.honda.com/mile-makers/) so we can have more Element representation there.

That is great! How many miles did you have when your serpentine belt frayed? What was the cost for replacement?

It was gradual, took about 2000 miles to really show itself. The first big change was that I could actually feel the motor idling when I was stopped at a light or something. Next was when I would shift from P to D I could hear a clunk, usually in the morning when it's still cold idling high. If you've ever had the U-joint go out in a rear wheel drive car, it's kinda like that. Now that the rubber, in the mounts, finally gave out it has a really sick vibration when I'm accelerating at low RPM's. The metal is now rubbing against itself. Two of them (left and rear) are visibly shot, the other two I can't really tell but I'm replacing all four anyway. Fedex says they'll be here Thursday.

Just did. It says they have to review it. I guess it'll be up there soon.

The original one lasted 100k, got one from the dealer, replaced it myself and it's still doing fine. I think it was about $30

Hey Locksmith I have a good one for you. My dad bought a used 03 Element from a dealer and was having problems with the door locks, duh. I told him about your thread on lock rebuilding. He took it back to the dealer with the link to the thread and they said they would fix it for him. By the way he is 75. he got his E backe yesterday with 6 keys:-o. 2 for the drivers door, 2 for the passengers door and his originals for the hatch and the ignition. They said thier locksmith didn't know how to rebuild the locks so they ordered him ned ones. God thing HandA has the keyless on sale this month, early fathers day preseant. Oh and congrats on 200k, I use my E as a service vehicle for copier service so it's good to see one go so far!:D  Drew:)

I changed the antifreeze at 100k and just now at 200k. Here's the difference between it and new. You almost can't tell except for some particles suspended in the liquid.

That's just sad. I figured they could have at least got a pair of door locks keyed alike. Is there any chance the dealer gave your dad the old locks back?

No I asked him that 1st thing. Oh well I think I need to take a trip to N.M. to get his E straightened out. Just thought you would appreciate the situation. Drew:)

So have you had this E 3 years and already have 200k on it? How many miles do you drive a year? and how do you put that many miles on it?

Chozn has an 06 and is just over 4k  You're the ying to his yang!!

Dance...You're right, I forgot that Chozen was all the way up to 4K miles! He must be ripping it up lately!!!

Locksmith...What an accomplishment! I also have a 2005 with 40K miles and I always tell people how much I love to drive it. You have a greater love than all of us! :D It makes me still feel really good about my purchase three years ago, and I look forward to seeing 100K miles on my own odometer one day! Your ride is an inspiration to us all. ;-)

yeah i have just over 18k on my 07, dont know what it is exactly now as im in the process of moving, so i borrowed my dads tacoma for a week and he has my E. only thing i really needed the taco for was my bed, but as its a 110 mile 1 way trip to get it, its easier to just switch vehicles for a week.

Got the motor mounts changed out and man, what a difference. For a while there it felt like my transmission was about to fall off. Anyhoo... here's some pics.
