My wife has had her Element for about 2 1/2 years now. She just hit the 34k mile marker and her tires are messed up. The only driving she does is to and from work with a mix of city driving on the weekends. They have normal wear for tires around that milage except for the front and rear passanger tires.
The outside of the pass. tires are worn so much that there's no tread left on them. The middle and insides are decent and match the other two tires. I regularly rotate the tires and have noticed that the other tires show minor signs of wear in the same areas. Only it seems to have stopped and hasn't gotten any worse. I'm guessing that the wear on the drivers side tires is from when those tires were on the passenger side.
I'm ordering her a new set of tires anyways. But I'd still like to find out what the heck is causing it so the new ones don't get messed up. I've considered the fact that the camber might be off on that side. But from looking at the sheer size and extent of the area of wear, I'm assuming that any amount of posotive camber that would cause such damage would be noticable just from looking at it.
Does anyone know if there's any sort of TSB for an issue like this? It's an 05 EX AWD AT. Thanks guys.
