I don't sell or have any connection with this product...

I bought one today because I have 3 Dogs and 2 Cats, you would think there was a "Dust Bunnies" convention around my house.

What I am talking about, if you haven't discovered it already, is the "FURminator", it is a de-shedding tool. I have already used it as soon as I got home today, WOW, my back yard looked like a field of cotton, but it was dog hair.

Check out their website http://www.furminator.com/ it will show you where to buy them from.

They also have some great links, some already mentioned here before.

My wife just bought one for our cat not long ago. It's AMAZING!

I was down on paying more than 30 bucks for a brush, but now I'm sure our vacuums will last longer - because we won't have to vacuum as much!!! My roomba is very happy about that... hehe

Gotta agree, the furminator is a fantastic tool.

We have the large one - wonder why?

you wouldn't believe the pile of hair we get off....

Never heard of the Furminator but we have one of these:

We have the small and the large blades, for our Malamute and our cats. Also works great, and I think comparably priced.

The Furminator is great, there was some discussion about the tool in this thread. (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44162).

I have one and we use it a lot, the product works wonderful. Just don't get suckered into buying one at full list price (like at PetSmart or PetCo). You should be able to find one for 30% off or more online or in some retail stores.

Glad my boys don't need one :) Although, I do have a cat that occassionally leaves her post from under the bed...

glad to find this thread.
I've been on the fence about this product and after hearing all the positive feedback i will definitely pull the trigger.

Yeah, the furminater works so well, the wife used it on me and now I'm bald !

The thing really does work - different than "other" brushes we have

yes, this is what we are talking about. Why did not I buy it earlier? I thought it was just as all the other brushes but it's really not. I have used it a bit on my pup, but I am still waiting for him to completely recover after the surgery (I give him few more days) and after that:D (oh, how happy I will be)!

Wyld, the kitty looks amazing! More pictures!

Wyld, you could knit another cat out of the hair you combed from her! She's beautiful, though.

We have a Furminator, too and we think it rocks. The dogs are not too sure about it, though.

I sat down and really examined it...I thought that there might be razors in there...but it's not sharp at all!

I got a much bigger pile of hair off my labradork...he is part chow and has a thick undercoat...he didn't like it at all...too bad, so sad, sit your a$$ down and let me rake you with the brush

Love the Furminator. It has made a huge difference in the amount of cat hair all over the place. Never got any pics taken because Rachel threw out the first giant batch of hair. She is one again saving it up so we can snap some pics.

I just picked up one of these last week for my JRT mix (she's sort of wire haired, sort of long haired) -- boy does it pull off dead hair! She practically looked shaved by the time I was done!

Don't have much use for it on the cat though:D

I am having this exact problem with my dog. The tumbleweeds are huge. Thanks for the advice.

 HAHAHAHAAAA...I moved my refridgerator not too long ago and if you were here, you would have thought that I am a dirty person with all the dog hair under it.

I can only hope that the furminator will cut down on the hairball puke piles that my cat insists on leaving in places where I will step in it

You dirty woman you!!

One thing I found helps HUGELY with hairball puke is feeding something like Science Diet hairball control dry food. We get maybe one hairball a month, if even that, whereas before we were getting one every other day!

I ummmm...don't want to talk about Science diet...is there a pet food debate thread?

There was a while back during the pet food scare. I do realize they're not the best, but they're a decent value for the money. We used to feed Dr.'s Foster & Smith food but they've stopped carrying it locally

I've just come home to find a furminator on the counter waiting for me. It seems to be my job although I really don't mind messing about with the cat. Husband has continually threatened to have him shaved -he's medium to long hair- but I won't have it, so I guess we'll have to settle for the furminator. He read all these posts and announced, "I'm sold". Let's hope the cat can live with all this prickly attention.
