: Fuses with LEDs?

Has anyone used these? (http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?Dx=mode+matchall&productId=6391&catalogId=10101&Ntx=mode+matchallany&langId=-1&storeId=10101)They are fuses that have an LED built into them, that will light up when the fuse blows.

I think they would be great for the under dash fuses, it's such a pain to access the panel.

Which leads me to ask Honda: "Would it have killed you to put all the fuses under the hood?"

I saw those in an auto parts store recently and thought they were rather expensive. After all, how often do fuses blow, anyway? And if you have one that blows frequently do you really want to spend $3.00 on a fuse?

Now if it were a circuit breaker with an LED - that would be cool!

Unless it was on a circuit I'd been messing around with personally (trailer lights, other non-essential, nor factory-approved applications) I haven't blown a fuse in over ten years! More non-essential whining. I love it!

I've often wondered why the automakers don't incorporate these LEDs directly into the fuseblock. Most of the equipment we have a work have a lamp that indicates when a fuse is blown.

It can't be the cost. In bulk, LEDs are under half a penny.
