I am starting my cat-back exhaust for the Element.

I decided against finding a true custom muffler or what not, and went with this muffler as the base for my system. The muffler is a polished ES Tuning Systems Universal Oval Muffler, 2.25" in/out. I hadn't heard of them until I went to Indianapolis and noticed one of my friends had the ES universal oval on his del Sol. Let me just tell you a little something about this muffler: it sounds BAD ASS. At low rpm's (cruising/highway), it sounds barely louder than stock, but when you hit the gas, and go toward the high RPM range (especially in VTEC) this muffler has the most bad ass sound I've ever heard out of any muffler, and if ES made this muffler in a 3" application, I would have it on my del Sol. It is also a quality muffler, and it's fairly inexpensive.

The piping will be mandrel bent 2.25" aluminum, MIG/TIG welded. Once I have the system on my Element I will make another pull on the dyno and/or use one of the G-Tech / Beltronics Vector accelerometers. The tip of the exhaust will be polished as well, and it will be a lapped round cut (think how the stock Chrome exhaust tip looks). I went 2.25" because I think it will give me the most amount of power in a naturally aspirated application, since I won't reduce backpressure too much.

If anyone is interested, I will produce this cat-back for you all. Expect the price to be around $600.00-650.00 + shipping (my estimate).

Cool qsilver074,

Let me know how it turns out and what the performance numbers are.
Did you see the exhaust I had built?

Yeah I saw it. I'm going 2.25" to see if there's any difference...

You should dyno the system as well, even though the accelerometers are getting VERY accurate nowadays.
