Anyone know where I can get some front seat parts? All I need are the tracks. Dealers can only sell you the tracks and the bottom portion of the seat. $250.00. I just want to use them as a templete and have some longer ones fabricated so that I can slide the front seat back farther.
Thanks,
Just bought it and already making changes.

Even junkyards only want to sell the whole seat, but if you call around you may find one that was damaged in a wreck.
p.s. If you find one, let me know-I'm looking for a piece of seat fabric.

You need to contact an aftermarket seat manufacturer, like Recaro, and see if they have seat tracks for the Element.

This afternoon I saw only the second Dodge Neon SRT-4 in Minnesota (dealer quotas, you know) for the entire year! They have Viper factory seats with to-die-for side bolsters. The fabric and material is a great match for the interior of my black Element, and some day....

Please dont regress. You have risen to the next level.

I thought about you idea to add some length to the seat rails, and am wondering if it would work. Take a look at where the seatback is when the seat is all the way back. On mine, it's a little behind the rear door. If you move the seat back four inches, every time you get out of the car you'll smash your hip into the door jamb.
This came to mind because many years ago, I got a Jeep CJ-5, and moved the seat back six inches. I ripped out a few belt loops on the door latch untill I decided to trade for a CJ-7, which has a larger door opening.

I always open the back door. I am in a wheelchair and I am trying to find an easier way to get my wheelchair into the "E". Currently I have to get in on the passenger side, tranfer to the drivers seat, slide the passenger seat all the way forward, and then roll/lift my wheelchair into the back. I am hoping that the longer tracks would allow me to get in on the drivers side, because of hand controls in the way, and then bring in my wheelchair behind the drivers seat. Having the back (suicide) door open was one of the main features of the "E" that got me to purchase it.

I have been looking into aftermarket seats and so far it seems that you have to purchase a complete seat and the brackets with tracks to mount them. I going to keep looking though.
I am looking into wrecked (totaled) "E's" also. Have not been able to locate one yet. If someone hears about one could you please notify me?
Thanks again.
