Personally, if I ever get the opportunity to do so, I'd rather replace my stock HU with a double-din HU that can play CDs and MDs like the one in stock Japanese E's or like the studio E.

Unfortunately, my experience with salesman and Crutchfield indicate that quality double din HUs aren't really in demand. So I did a quick search and found this site:

A bit more expensive than I initially thought...but I like the products. Especially the sonys. =) Is there anywhere else I should look at for these kind of HUs? And hopefully at cheaper prices?

You will lose 6Mhz of the FM band and have to choose a converter in order to listen to a 14Mhz section of the US FM band. Your frequency display will always say something different than the actual frequency. For example, 106.7Mhz in the US is equal to 88.7Mhz on the JDM radio when used with the converter. But you do gain an exclusivity factor and a coolness factor! That Sony WX-7700MDX is SWEET! And that retro-look Panasonic CQ-TX5500D with the VU meters and vacuum tube is crazy... I love 'em!

Here is a nice HU from eclipse that is DD, a bit pricey but it is really good quality being that it is has the Eclipse name on it.
