: Our day at Cedar Point...

We had a total of 9 people go to Cedar Point together. We were all from the EOC but RRIDER from the ROC provided us with great directions to get there. His directions got us there in just over 2 hours instead of what would have probably been 3 hours if we had listened to our GPS'.

The Cedar Point Group consisted of the following:

Larry/Rachel
Paul/Lacy
Gaily
Jake
Al
ValeriE/Laura

When we went to pay I jokingly said to the ticket girl that I wanted 2 Senior Citizen tickets, they cost $15.95 instead of the regular $42.95. So I handed the girl $100.00 and figured she would give me change for the two regular tickets. She looks at me, leans out and looks at Rachel. I then saw her grab a $50 and figured she didn't hear me ask for two tickets. Then I saw her print two tickets and she handed me the change. I checked the tickets and they both said JR/SR and $15.95! We got into Cedar Point as Senior Citizens! lol Nobody could believe we got away with it. :D

Later on there was a booth that could guess your weight, age or birthday. I had them try guessing my age. She guessed 36... she got it wrong so we won an SOP monkey! :)

If you are a rollercoaster fan and have never been to Cedar Point... get yourself there when you can! That place is SICK! One coaster was better than the next. Just amazing rides. We had so much fun. We got to ride almost every major coaster in the park along with a few other rides. We had a great time with everyone at the park!

We only took a few pics at the park. I'll get them along with my Combo Meet pics up later today.

Looks like it says JR/SR. I would say you look more like a JR, but a bit too tall. Good Justin did not go, he would have had free access (children 3 and under free)-Sorry Justin, you are fun!

I still don't know how you managed to pull off the senior thing, but I gotta give ya credit!

And for all those who DIDN'T come to Cedar Point, you missed a hell of a good time!

Glad you guys had fun at CP. I was telling some, it amazes me to hear people talk about that place with such enthusiasm because I have lived so close to it for all my life. (It's like 30-40 min. away) I thought it was funny that somebody from California (Paul I believe) knew more about the park than I did. He knew they had new coasters, etc. It's been a while since I have been there, but I just got offered some free tickets for next month I believe, so I might have to revisit the ol place  That is pretty funny about the senior tickets, maybe the girl working the booth realizes that it cost too dang much money to get in and enjoy the place

The kids and I did the Top Thrill Dragster ride 4 times. Long wait times for that ride, but in general the lines were pretty short. We did manage to coax Mrs. Rocket Dog on a few of the rides...she was not amused.

Sounds like lots of fun @ a cheep price for two of you anyway. Please post some photos when you get a chance. I haven't been there in many years. Last time I went the Gemini was their premier roller coaster. Damn I'm gettin old.:???::)

I think it was only running a total of maybe 15 minutes. We didn't see more than a handful of cars go on this the entire day. We didn't even bother waiting on the line for it.

But what fun is life if you don't live dangerously!? The worst she'll do is kick your a$$

What were your favorite rides? Laura and I went on Thursday before coming to the meet and we got in at 9 and we were done by 5:30 because there were practically no lines all day long.

My absolute favorite was the Top Thrill Dragster. That was the only one that Laura would not go on, but I went on twice by myself since the wait time was only like 20 minutes or less. There was a tie for second place between the Maverick and the Millenium Force. I loved both and the Maverick was the only one that we had to wait in a long line for (about an hour). Laura's favorite was the Raptor (the one where your legs hang down). Neither of us were fans of any of the wooden coasters because it seemed like they were very rough and jarring. All 3 that we rode gave us headaches; maybe we are just getting too old :D

I loved Maverick and Mean Streak. I love the old wooden coasters. The bouncing around is what makes them that much better! :-)

I really enjoyed all of the coasters for different reasons. Thought they all gave a great ride and were well worth the wait to get to the park.

I'll definitely have to make it there someday! I remember riding The Beast a few years ago and loving it, I fell in love with wooden coasters! I didn't realize they had that many, now I'm mad I didn't have time to go!

Sounds like you all have a great time. I've not been to Cedar Point in literally decades :???: Maybe I should get the senior discount

Hubby and I bought season passes this year to Paramount's Kings Island down near Cincinnati Ohio. It's a whole lot closer for us than Cedar Point.

Glad ya'll have fun! :D

Mean Streak all the way!!!

Mean Streak is one of the greats, as is the Blue Streak! Personally, my favorites are Magnum and now Maverick. Millenium Force is ok but not great, and Top Thrill Dragster's not worth more than a 30 minute wait IMO.

And Twi, I've ridden Beast as well. Great coaster, but I felt like I had been beaten by a gang with baseball bats for two minutes. The Mean Streak rides like a Cadillac compared to Beast, and is just about as fun of a coaster.

Isn't that the whole point of riding wooden coasters...?

Isn't that the whole point of riding wooden coasters...? :rolleyes:There's a certain point where one passes masochism into just flat-out pain. Beast crossed that line for me. I do want to ride it again, though

I agree with you. It wasn't funny at the time... but during the second ride on Mean Streak I thought I broke one of my ribs that I had previously broken 3.5 yrs ago! During two really hard right turns that were very bouncy I slammed into the outer side of the car on the left and felt my chest compress and thought my rib broke. I could have sworn I heard a POP! After the ride when we were checking out the pics that the park takes I can be seen grabbing my left rib cage and wincing in pain. Obviously it hurt like hell! lol

Thankfully nothing was broken and I am fine. :) It was still an AWESOME ride! I will make sure to sit on the right side from now on in those types of coasters.

The pictures of my wife on the wooden coasters were hilarious. She looked like she was in so much pain during those rides. Mine weren't that great either, but I was so tempted to buy a couple of the pictures of her riding the wooden coasters.
