Anyone interested in planning another meet? Thought maybe the coast would be a good idea for the next one.

Maybe we could do something overnight, like camping at Salt Point or McKerricher? In any case, it's been too long since we did anything in NoCal!

Sonora could work - we could go to Columbia nearby and walk around, too. Hopefully the place won't be too crowded. Guess we'll need some organizing for caravans from wherever, time, date and meeting place, and reservations for lunch or motels and dinner if anyone is staying that long.

one of the cool places we could go is 9 mile road, which is about half way between sonora and murphys on a back road. you also go right through the town of columbia, a fun place to look around. after columbia you cross over a big bridge over new melonies dam (where the russians threw the dead bodies off) then you wind down a small one way road (way, way, down) past an old abandon mill, (fun place to explore) then further down to the river that has a generator plant that generates power for the cable cars in SFO. there is a great place to hang out by the river, picnic, swim or whatever. then on to murphys which is a quaint town to eat, antique, etc then to ironstone wineries, which is GREAT!! has a 44 pound gold nuggett to drool over, and great wine tasting. How many times did i say great? great!!!!!!!

I think any area along the coast is beautiful, especially the Sonora/Napa area. Count me in if there's ever a meet.

SONOMA is for grapes - SONORA is for gold..... sonora is along hwy 49 in the gold country, apporx due east of modesto...we aint got no stinkin oceans, but we have great lakes, rivers, and wineries....and lots of gold mines, and old historic towns full of antiques

lots of people make that mistake. people are allways asking me how i like living in the wine country. funny thing is, this is becoming wine country. there are 50 or more wineries in this area...think we could hit them all in an Element roundup weekend? how about a get together in late sept, when it has cooled down a little up here antd the tourist have gone away? I will help coordinate from up here if some one in the club wants to champion the cause in your area...

there is a cheap , but nice motel right across the street from the sonora fairgrounds. the fairgrounds has camping. so you can motel it or camp. the campground would be a great place for meeting , party, bbq, or??? i will make reservations for whoever is going to come up. I know the area pretty well and can keep us all busy for a few days. let me know interest : antiques, wineries, neat old towns, lakes, fun roads, good eats, etc, whatever. let me know what group wants. i will be in europe from sept 9th until sept 21st, but am ready to rip before or after that...I think late sept would be cooler and less tourist. let me know gene

there is posting going on at http://norcalelements.com/forum as well!

Be sure to check out both sites, sign the guestbook and leave any comments (good or bad). There are quite a few new features on the website which compliment this site as well. (Tom - great job as always!) Together we hope to provide all the resources you need to meet & connect to fellow E enthusiasts, plan this and meets, and learn about the Element in Northern California!

Happy posting!!!

Deffinately count me in. I like the offroad idea and this part of California is beautiful. At days end I would love to find a secluded place and do overnight car camping.

Is there a date set. Norcal Element is July 31, how about we roll this into one meet and explore?

I don't get it - there's a link for more information in the Northern California Elements site, but nothing in the upcoming events calendar for July. I didn't see anything specific to this event there, either.

So, maybe the information should be posted here if there is going to be a Sonora meet, where we'll gather, when, etc. There was a posting to meet at Truxel Road in Sacramento (for some of us, at least), but that's a big parking lot. In front of which store? What about people coming from Merced or Stockton? Where and when do we meet in Sonora?

I had a link for the meet on this website. If you want I can make a thread here. I had one but there was only 17 views. So I delete it. There was so many links for one meet so I will leave it on this thread.
We can meet in the parking lot by Wal-Mart. As for Stockton/ Merced people, I was looking at the map and it says 99 to hwy 12. So we should have meet up point in Galt or Lodi. When I first looked at the map on yahoo it said I-5 blah blah Stockton. So I thought Stockton would be a good meet up point. But I was wrong.
Thanks for the input. I need to fix all the bugs now. We only have 2 weeks to go. So if anybody knows the Galt/Lodi area please give us a idea to meet off 99. I am still new to the Sac area. Thanks again Mike.

I contated the Admin of this website (Tom) to request a notice be placed on the Homepage about this meet with a link to this thread and perhaps remove the out of date notice of the West Coast meet that was in May.

Can someone contact the admin of the Norcal Element website (Clark) and ask he put a notice on the main homepage about this meet? I have been emailing him and not getting any response.

Zanpakuro, you should post a mesage with a request for those interested to contact you so we can get an idea of how many people we may be looking at.

I also tried to get a hold of Clark on the NorCal board, but no luck yet.
I am use to another board. When we have a meet, people will post that they are coming and we make a list. But it seems like alot of people will not post on this site or NorCal site.
I know Clark has sent a newsletter to the NorCal list of members. So hopefully he has a list of people coming.
Well I know of 6 poeple going

Your link has been added to our home page. I'm always happy to help promote E-vents and meets, so thanks for bringing this one to my attention. Be sure to post images and a summary here and maybe I can feature it on our home page.

Also, the West Coast meet is not out of date. If you look closer, you'll see that it's part of a meet summary from above (w/ pics).

i tried to do that for the weekend of may 21st - 23rd. i wanted to meet up in pismo.

but i was in china and have never organized a meet so i didn't really know what i should've scheduled. plus i was 8,000 miles away.

so there was only 1 person that showed up at pismo on that day.
