What's up all? First of all, I would like to say hello, and that I have found this an interesting forum. I'm glad to be here, and look forward to becoming a part of the community as a new Element owner.

Now, down to business. I just bought a new '08 LX. I replaced the stock radio with an Alpine CDA-9883 that I pulled out of my trade in. I bought a wiring harness, and installed the HU with no problems. XM will come later in the week. My only issue is that I have NO AM reception. I re-checked my work, and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. FM reception is fine, but no AM. Is there an AM loop antenna wire in the factory harness that the AM unit does not account for? I didn't have any issues with the previous installation. The factory unit did have normal AM reception.

Did you hook up the power wire to the antenna? The E used a powered antenna. There should be a yellow/green wire in the harness for the radio.

Nope I didn't. When I saw power antenna, I thought of the old retractable kind. I'll hook that wire up and see what happens.
