: The "Precious" after the 2008 International Meet
chozn4service 06-28-2008, 03:01 PM Finally caught up on mods, though I'm not quite done (as Darth Raider says, it's a work in progress thing with the Element) I decided to post some pics for those who didn't make it to Ohio. This was the place to be to see the creative genious of Element owners and what they have done to their Elements. I'm not tooting my own horn. I speak of the likes of Wasted, Fujisan and BigTZElement with their transformations and Apple who has installed a computer in his ride and I'm talking mouse w/pad on dash and keyboard. I wish everyone could have made it to Ohio but I understand there is a life outside of the EOC. The SoCal guys like Chief (Darth Raider), JSM00thJaZ3, Burn, EXwSCNose, SquadOne just to name a few have really done some creative things. I'm just naming a few here but there are many, many more who have done and worked some magic in electronics and other areas like under the hood performace.
All this being said, I give you the Precious. A 2006 EX-P in Tango Red Pearl, 4800 miles on the odometer. 18" ADR Venomous wheels with 48mm offset on Michelin Energy MXV-4 235x55x18. Other mods can be found on my profile page.
chozn4service 06-28-2008, 03:05 PM InJen Short Ram, heated seats thanks to Dancetiludrop.
chozn4service 06-28-2008, 03:13 PM Last set. The sunroof is Webasto and comes with a lifetime warranty. It features two presets however you want to program it, one touch open and close as well as a pop up and it has lighted control pod. Installation was provided by Indy Auto Spa who I would recommend to anyone. They do all the installs for local dealerships on sunroofs and other trim work. A first class operation. They also provided the heated seats for free. Again, special thanks to Dancetiludrop for them, my back really appreciates them and so does Dawn! :D
JSm00thJaZ3 06-28-2008, 04:29 PM The Precious is looking real good :D:wink:. You have done a magnificent job on your mods.
_jea_ 06-28-2008, 04:42 PM Hey dude, this looks cooool!:D Sorry, wanted to have less of my accent:rolleyes:
Chozen, you have done a great job. This looks really nice. Love the front sunroof.
Darth Raider 06-28-2008, 05:04 PM Chozen,
It's so nice to finally see your ride at a level that you should righteously be proud of. I know the research, the time, and the effort that you put in just to get it there. The Element is one of those rare vehicles that every stock one you see, is left open to interpretation. Thankfully, we have had many beautiful interpretations of this ride on this forum. I love the fact that we all have a singular passion for this, 'not always understood vehicle.' We can dress it up for the boulevard, or take it all the way to a camping out utilitarian type of usage.
I just want to say that the way that you've envisioned the Precious has translated into the type of vehicle that a lot of people are going to really, really like. If I had been thinking about buying an Element, and then I saw yours, it could probably enough to get me down to the dealership for further exploration!
It shows the love of effort, continual improvement, and a 'commitment to excellence' that even a Raider fan has to admire! Please continue your motto of "measuring twice, and cutting once" to get the exact results that you seek. That sunroof is a work of art, all by itself! "You are looking good, my friend!"
Chief
bofus 06-28-2008, 05:13 PM "Someone" wrote in 2006 that his ride was almost finished... :???:
Pix & E' look very good Chozn!
Regards,
chozn4service 06-28-2008, 05:37 PM _jea_ (ladies first) I love your accent! Don't you ever do anything to try and loose it. Even the time spent in Italy has given you a certain flair that is so, so hip! Stay as you are. That's another reason you could in the Precious if I were on a road trip.
Bofus, I appreciate the love on the E. Back in 2006 I was done with her until I ran up on two guys by the name of Darth Raider aka Chief MorningBear and JSM00thJaZ3. The two of them have shown me that there is another level to reach for if you really want it and they are willing to lend a helping hand via phone, email, snail mail, PM and and have been know to send things to me via mail to help me bring the ride where I wanted to go with it. Thanks my brothers!
As Chief said, the Element is a blank canvas that Honda provided to its buyer and we are the artist or the instrument to bring it to fruition of what we envision. We each have our own taste and ideas of what we would like to do to it. Thankfully a forum such as this allows us to tap into warehouse of knowledge that is available here. I've always said there is a warehouse of knowledge here that resides with its members. I know of no other forum such as this and I'm proud to say I'm a member of. Chief has said it's a work in progress and I think he knows that me and even Jeff have a few more things running around in our heads (maybe) but even if we don't, we're at a point where we can be content, NO, satisfied where we are. I recall the last time I reached this plateau with the SMM '03 (and I loved that ride) I traded it and the mods started all over again. This will never, ever happen with the Precious.
So again, thanks for the kind words and accolades but I must share the love!
Peace!
drPheta 06-28-2008, 07:44 PM Oh man! My twin looks AWESOME! Good go on the sunroof, but do you miss the overhead compartment?
chozn4service 06-28-2008, 07:56 PM Oh man! My twin looks AWESOME! Good go on the sunroof, but do you miss the overhead compartment?
Thanks my Evil Twin! I had to get some what twisted with it. As for the over head storage, I never really used it. It wasn't big enough for my pistols and I ended only keeping my iPod in there when I left the car. Having added the SC console, I gained space and I have more space now than I know what to do with. It was a win win situation as far as I was concerned.
Thanks again!
Peace!
Alaskan_Toaster 06-28-2008, 08:02 PM VERY NICE!!!! and only 4800 miles??!!
I just clocked over the 20k mark, on my way to the million mile club, and have enjoyed hEr the entire way.:razz::razz:
You've already done a couple of mods I planned on doing (nice to be able to see them done), and may want to add a couple very useful mods I plan to do (can't let the cat out just yet.....) :D
Time to sit back enjoy Precious, yet? or are there other mods on the horizon.... :?:cool:

Darth Raider gets on me all the time when we talk on the phone, usually weekly, on how I never drive it. I just wanted to get it where I wanted it, so I could enjoy it. Before the Precious I had a Lexus GS 400 *loaded* and I missed some of those creature comforts. Now, I have them all within the Precious. The advantage of having a state car didn't hurt any either. I usually drive it on and off duty except when I just can't stand to roll it in even if the gas if free. I love the way the Precious is rolling now and the one thing I really like is the fact there isn't another one like it, at least not here in Indy or probably Indiana.
As far as other things to do, yea, I have a few things up my sleeve but I like you, won't let the cat out of the bag. I mean it's nothing that hasn't been done before I'm sure but when I go through my next phase, if there is another phase, it will be done over the winter when I don't drive it and the time needed to execute it will be there and if I don't get it back until mid March, it'll be OK with me.
Can't wait to see what you're up to though. I know it will be on point. Maybe you'll drive it to Noblesville and I can catch up with you on a visit.
Peace!
Pope*Mobile 06-28-2008, 08:34 PM Precious is beautiful . . . and the color ain't bad either
Thanks for sharing!

DCbox 06-28-2008, 08:36 PM Hey Chozen,
After seeing yours and the others mods to their E's, it's time to roll my ancient '05 back into the garage for an upgrade.:)
chozn4service 06-28-2008, 08:59 PM Thanks Pope! I know you're partial to the color and I can't blame ya.
DC Box, ain't nothing wrong with upgrading especially if you're going to take Beyonce into the garage with you.
Really appreciate the love and glad we finally got to meet up.
Peace!
dancetiludrop 06-29-2008, 01:46 AM Chozn - The ride is looking damn respectable!! Represent my man....REPRESENT!! I'm so glad we (in your words) "pulled the trigger" on the sunroofs!! :D A great mod to make our rides unique. I know the Honda plant was eyeballing your front sunroof and one of the designers said "this is what it should have been like from the start".....thing looks totally stock IMO.
The smoked tails, side markers and eyelids adds to the overall look....and of course the shoes make the outfit so the wheels are the cherry on the sundae!! :D
Keep it hot!!
EarCanD 06-29-2008, 08:28 AM Yep , puts me onother ten paces back ( hehe ) JK .. I love your E man and it's defo different .. All you guys keep me motivated to mod my E further .. I was soo skeptical when I bought it and after seein the likes of " Precious " and others ( you know who you are ) I'm as happy as I can be .. Your ride is Clean , not over done , and very tasteful ! Can't wait til I can see some more pics of phase 40 uuhhhh I mean 5 when and if it ever comes around ! Be proud .. your ride is " slammin " ~ Chris :D
perfdata 06-29-2008, 08:52 AM Chozn, I'm towing my E out to you to do the 49 mods I still have in boxes. That or send me some time.
Question - How did the folks fill the space where the overhead bin used to be when they took it out for the second sunroof and do you miss that bin?
Sunshine 06-29-2008, 08:58 AM Chozn,
Once again, your E has left me in awe. All the time and effort you've put into it have really paid off. Thanks for keeping us updated, I'm looking forward to your next phase!

He answered that on the first page.
"Thanks my Evil Twin! I had to get some what twisted with it. As for the over head storage, I never really used it. I think the pistols not fitting is a good thing, everything will eventually
fly out of it anyway.:D
chozn4service 06-29-2008, 10:07 AM Thanks Dance! You know I'm trying to keep it real on this end. Yea, I thought the Honda employees were really amazed at the roof. In fact, that picture of the little Lotus Blossom that worked for Honda looking at it and me explaining how it was done, she asked me how I managed to have it done before getting it. I mean she thought they did it at the factory, so I knew that said something within itself. The other thing was there were a group of guys who told me if if they made the Element that looked like mine, they'd buy one. I had to tell them the whole point of the Element is to get it and make it what you want it to be.
I'm happy the way the Precious has developed over the past seven months. Seems like that's when everything sort of jumped off. I may have a few more tricks up my sleeve. You for one are my witness that I had the money to do the SC conversion four times last year. I do however love this 57" Mitsubishi DLP HDTV sitting in the family room and of course there were other things I did around the house so it's not like I don't see where the money went. But yea, I may pull the trigger on some other things this fall going into the winter months when I don't drive it. We'll see what happens.
Again, the sunroof if the ultimate mod and if your Element is one you plan to keep for awhile, it's the mod to and have instant results and much gratification!
EDIT: The overhead storage area was removed and the map laps were kept. How they formed the area so that it looks as good as it does, I have no idea. All I can see is it looks good! Spdrcr5 was amazed over how it was done. He got into my Element on two different occasions trying to figure it out. All I can say is the guys at Indy Auto Spa know there stuff. I watched them meticulously when they were doing Dances Element and they cut no corners. They do all the dealerships here and if I had to do it all over again, these are the guys to do it.
BLK BOX 06-29-2008, 10:29 AM Looking hot man! Good job with the mods, makes me want a sunroof now!
chozn4service 06-29-2008, 10:56 AM Looking hot man! Good job with the mods, makes me want a sunroof now!
Thanks BLK BOX! On the sunroof, ain't nothing to it but to do it. I know if I lived in a state like Florida, Arizona or California, it would be no question. I'd probably would have had it done before I ever brought it home.
Some days as I drive around I swear I can hear Bill Whithers singing "Lovely Day"!:-P
protaganis 06-29-2008, 04:15 PM Looking good Chozn. Got a question on your intake, could you snap a pic and show how it loops? Thinking of doing an intake mod and I'm not sure how much of a bend people have taken when installing their intakes.
Other question, is that a water impermeable cover on your filter?
Again... Lookin GOOD. Gives me something to aspire to. Still wishing I could have gone to the nationals to see her and meet you live. Here's hoping for next year.
jimbos 06-29-2008, 04:26 PM The Precious is really looking good! Thanks for posting all the pix. They will surely inspire some of us to take our E's to the next level. The sunroof is awesome!

Thanks protaganis and Jimbos! Pro, I'm not sure which shot will help with your request on the intake but here is what I have on hand. If you need something else let me know and I can shoot it. The HydroShield is a moisture resistant pre-filter. Keeps all the grit out and will resist moisture, not water proof but moisture resistant.
Again thanks for the love on my Precious. I wish you guys could have been in Ohio as well, not to see my sled but to have seen what an event that was put on by T MAC and hosted by Honda.
Peace!
