I'm due for new tires. After reading through a lot of the tire threads, I've found so much info that my head is hurting.:-D I'm thinking I'll go with yoko geo 225/70/16 AT/S (I've got stock rims). Could someone please answer/confirm the following:
-225/70/16 AT/S are available. An older post said they were not made, but TireRack claims to have them in stock. Does anyone else have this tire?
-The larger tire is approx. 4% larger (tire size calculator) than stock. There appear to be conflicting reports on if the larger tire will negatively affect the speedo. Some claim the speedo with stock tires reads a little too fast, which can be corrected with slightly larger tires.
Thanks for the help.

Stock speedos have a certain tolerance of being "close to" exact, which they never are. I wouldn't worry too much about the 4% difference.

When I got tires last in October of 2006, Yoko only offered the HT/S in a 225/70/16. The AT/S was available in a 235 though.
Availability has prolly changed in the lat few years though.

I really like my 225s.(Cooper ATRs) I think it is a great size. Bigger/wider than stock but not "too big." According to my GPS, my spedometer/odometer is now closer to correct than it was with the stock tires.

Good luck.

I have and love my Yoko Geo ATS tires. After 9000 miles, the wear is almost imperceptable.
I do have the 225/70/16. The additional size up made my speedo correct according to my GPS.
I purchased mine at Discount Tire after fending off the salesperson who wanted to sell me what they had in stock.

Unless you really need harsh snowor mud traction, I'd go with the HTS. (I have these.) They are pretty aggressive tread as well, but do not have the blocky side treads.
