I'm 6'4" and you've got plenty of head room. How about someplace to put my left foot?

I agree -- there should be a proper "dead pedal" for your left foot to rest on... this is something the autowriters give major points for, yet is inexpensive to do. Had a dead pedal in my 1997 2 door Toyota RAV4 and it made driving much more comfortable.

Is the "dead pedal" the block on the far left of a car that resembles a pedal, but is just a raised block off the ground? If so, there actually is one on the E. Its not raised off the ground too much, but the texture is there. If thats not what it is

I don't think Joe Autowriter would call the "raised block" a dead pedal -- have you tried pushing on that area with your foot? In my Element the plastic raised area just squashes right down to whatever lies underneath. A true dead pedal actually looks something like the gas pedal with a metal plate and a rubber pad, but it is fixed in place (i.e. "dead"). In hard cornering situations you can press hard against the dead pedal to keep you back and secure in your seat (admittedly less of an issue in an Element vs. a sports car).

How many cars actually have this? Maybe im not as aware since I have a 5-spd. My old 93 Toyota Pickup had one similar to what you are explaining, but I wouldn't really call it a "pedal" more like a block.

I think that pretty much most standard cars have this....even my old car....a 1994 Hyundai had a dead pedal....and it would be a good addition...much more comfortable for long drives.
