: WalMart Fogs
mageac 10-27-2003, 03:33 PM Been through some heavy rains a few weeks ago...Just noticed that one of the lenses on the ProBurner Fogs is missing. I thought it may have been hit with a rock or debris but looking closely there's no broken glass. It seems to have fallen off. Not sure how it happened though. Either the rain had something to do with it, the vibrations of driving, or maybe, but not likely, the heat of the light softened the adhesive holding the lens. The bulb filament is also busted but not burnt up. Probably a combination of the these reasons.
So now I guess I have to spend another $20 to replace the lens with an entirely new kit, unless someone can think of a better solution.
Sheniferous 10-27-2003, 04:37 PM yea, me and nyokie both had that problem...
go to http://www.optronicsinc.com and find their 800 number.
call them and tell them it fell off and they'll send you a replacement lamp.
BriBoy01 10-27-2003, 07:41 PM Overall how happy are you with the walmart fogs? fit and finish?
mageac 10-27-2003, 09:52 PM great! thanks for the tip, ill call tomorrow. and, overall, im very happy with the lights once they were aimed. theyre very bright and were easy to install. beats paying 10X the amount for essentially the same thing.
did you all ever find out why the lens fell off and take any preventative measures?
also do you know the exact model number for these lights (i chunked the packaging) so i know when i call them?
nyokie 10-27-2003, 10:13 PM mine look great and definately happy with the no hassle warranty when mine lost the lens they told me no prob we will send you a light
as far as why who knows weak adhesive?
think it was 75QT? if that wasnt it its close describe the light to them really nice folks
message shen he knows model # i forgot
Montster 10-28-2003, 12:02 AM Have you not heard the quote you get what you paid for?
I looked at those very same light assy. I decided not to purchase them for three reasons.
They looked cheap
They were much smaller in diameter than the actual mounting dia. on the elements bumper molding
They did not have a half decent wiring.
I purchased the CyberWhite navigator nv602w which have a larger diameter that fits perfect. Glass lenses, a very important relay assy. such as the Oem and a well shielded wiring harness for an additional 20.oo THats 39.95 at walmart.
Hint hint...
Or you can take yours back as a defect if you have had it less than 3 months.
ChumsGum 10-28-2003, 01:23 AM Or you can buy the Hella Optilux 2500s w/ Angel Eyes, they're German engineered, solid steel/glass, and a great value at $59 at Pep Boys.

hey nyokie, i just got my repleacement lens today too....
hey people, just FYI, the honda switch isn't designed to run the current of any foglight system directly... it's best to run a relay from the switch to the lights.
i burned out my switch last week when i had my lights on for over an hour....
I looked at my Walmart Fogs and lo and behold, there is about 1/4" of water in there. Guess that old axiom is still true today "Ya get what ya pay for"
nyokie 11-02-2003, 05:55 PM yeah it seems they had some probs with glass seal
replacement looks like it is sealed differently than original so im sure ill be calling for passenger side soon too
i havent had prob with my switch yet but ill keep an eye on it
i took a pretty long road trip like 3 hours with them on and didnt notice any burning but now im gonna go check it lol
boneheadz 11-09-2003, 01:18 PM I have been looking at some aftermarket lights to mount on the bumper. They range from 30.00 to 150.00. The ones I like are only 30.00. I think that might be too cheap to be any good. Any opinions?
hownowcb 11-09-2003, 02:02 PM You might check out mine in the Gallery (Test Pic Thread). I think they're only about $30.00 U.S., including the switch and relay! Not top shelf, certainly, but way better quality than the WalMart ones. And they're doing fine for what I expect of them. Happy to PM details if you have any interest.
boneheadz 11-09-2003, 02:45 PM I knew I had seen it somewhere before but could not remember which board. The lights I want seem similar to yours and that is how I want to mount them.
edit.
Could post instal instructions? IE the wiring
1kewlelement 11-12-2003, 12:41 AM My lenses fell off too. I call them today and they will be shipping replacement lenses.
I decided to go with a different type of fog/driving lights. It's the kind with the different color halo's on it. They are 4" rather than the 3 1/2 inch. I got them from Wal-Mart, also. I installed them last night and they look great. I will take pics tomorrow and post them. They are difinitely better built. They cost like $39.00.
