I, for one, am stoked. I have the XM installed from the factory, but I have a 1 year sub to sirius. I don't think it would be worth it if I couldn't have underground garage and the NFL channel. Now, it looks like I might be able to have both with the ala carte options and still have my factory install.

Awesome, so now to see what happens to those of us on a multiyear subscription. I think I have 3 years left on mine.

What I read was that current receivers are fine...BUT...if you then want ala carte to get other stations new receivers will be needed.

I guess that'll be a good excuse to buy a new HU w/ Navi and XM capabilities.

If they offer me a $7/mo discount rate i'll subscribe. I enjoyed my 3 free months in my box.

Will we be able to get any Sirius programing on our oem head units?
The whole things is a bit confusing.

You will be able to get Sirius streams if they are broadcast over the XM bandwidth, but you will need a new reciever to pick and choose streams from both when the time comes.

Awesome, so we may not need to replace the OEM radios afterall... this is all dependant on what Sirius channesl XM decides to broadcast on their spectrum. Really, I just listen to a handful of music channels, so I hope XM brings over the ones I like from Sirius.

This helped... Thanks. I wonder how long now it will take to begin streaming some of the Sirius offerings over our XM units. This merger has been 16 months in the making. Hopefully Sirius and XM engineers have been working on this over that period of time and can begin the transmissions relatively soon. If you hear of anything, please post.

Thanks again.

AWESOME!!! I just want the NASCAR channel. Radio Margaritaville wouldn't be bad, either. :)

So, is it going to sound better or are we still stuck with what sounds like 64kbps mp3s that were ripped in 1995? This is my biggest gripe with XM, even the sound quality of the regular radio is better.
