Howdy!

We're moving soon and will be getting rid of the oversized chair the dogs sleep on. We're going to need an eco-friendly dog bed large enough for both dogs (35 and 50 lbs). Anyone have any recommendations?

Mine enjoys the pillow top Serta sleeper. :-)

try goodwill or craigslist, used furniture or beds are a great way to 'recycle' them, and the dogs love the comfort too....

It's not hard to find a decent sofa for free on craigslist, and you have something that would haul it... :)

Following Gisele's lead, I also bought an Orvis dog bed. There are days when Megan hunkers down in the bed, and other days when she'll sleep on the floor right next to it. She's kind of a dork that way.

Here's the link to Orvis.

Mine have a king-size Swedish Tempur-pedic that they let my wife and use too, if we are nice. But also have a "dog-sofa" they use in the family room (there stay-when-we-are-out-of-the-house-place. We got it at Petsmart. The dogs actually picked it out. Took them with us to Petsmart - looking for a dog bed, and they both went right to the bottom shelf, and climbed into the one we bought.

hmmm....I am a mean mommie and my dogs don't have beds anymore...they used to have beds then one day there was a tug of war and one bed died a horrible death...then my lab decided that the remaining bed must be peed upon

Good luck with your search!

Yesterday was my first day back to work after having some of the summer off. My pup wasn't too excited that the alarm went off early this morning. I returned from the shower to find him:
see his bed is my bed! :)

Try Costco if you have one close to you. We get ours from there. I think they are Kirkland brand. You can unzip the cover and take the bed portion out so you can wash the covers. They have ceader chips mixed into the filling of the bed part so they smell good, and it keeps the fleas away. They also only cost like $20 each. My dogs are 55 and 80 lbs, and the beds are plenty big for them. They are about 36" in diamiter. We get them twice a year, the new ones go into the familyroom and the old ones go into the garage. the ones from the garage get cleaned up and donated to Goodwill.

here is a link to the costco websight with the dog beds. The ones we get are not here but the pricing on the sight isn't bad.

Yep, yep, yep, -- just got one for Ruby. If you have a Pomeranian you might want to shop at WalMart though. The ones at Costco can easily hold a Standard Poodle or a Malamute...
