hiker chick 08-04-2008, 03:47 PM Has the manufacturer given you brochures or do you have something to hand out with their web page?
You're going to be giving a lot of tours!
:)
rico2072 08-04-2008, 07:30 PM Very neat looking. Would like to see some pictures when you can.
Elemen-O-P 08-04-2008, 07:38 PM OK seriously! I just watched the setup for camping video, and fell in love!! This has to be the coolest pop up tent EVER!! I'm already trying to convince the wife to let me have one.:D
I just love its ability to not only "house" you during your outing, but its ability to haul all your gear inside and on top. Too cool, too cool. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

tribalelement 08-04-2008, 10:52 PM way cool :D
What does one of those cost?
What does one of those cost?
...it's one of those "if you have to ask, you can't afford it".
($6 Grand base, $8 Grand well equipped.)
eomaha.com 08-08-2008, 10:11 AM Okay, I'm in a shock. I guess that's what one should come to expect when you're also making a fashion statement with your camper. :)
rico2072 08-09-2008, 02:58 PM Wow, $6 to 8 grand! that is way too much for me!
Yah, for what is basically a utility trailer married to a Colman tent - seems a bit much.
off the grid 08-10-2008, 10:22 PM If any follow EOC'ers were serious about coming up to Sardine Lake to see my Go, we've had a slight change of plans. Same date, but we'll be at Salmon Lake, which just above Sardine Lake in the Tahoe National Forest. Just look for our TRP E and Go. Sorry for the confusion.
siclmn 08-10-2008, 11:48 PM What a waste of money! You can carry a lot of camping gear in the back of the Element, why do you need a tent trailer? Does it have a shower and toilet or hot water for that price? $6000 ?????????

It's a nice design - very well thought out. For someone who likes to "outdoor's it" - camp and be able to haul kayaks and/or bikes, etc as well., and use it at home as an all-round utility/hauler too, it's a great all-in-one. But the price will keep it from taking off. Manufacturing costs are less than half of what they are selling for, so the company is trying to make back all their development costs and be profitable right out of the gate. Risky. Lots of "great" products hit the market and die, because companies price themselves way out of the market and then fold when their sales don't take off. Priced right, they wouldn't be able to build them fast enough to meet the demand. At the price they are they will only sell a hand-full of them and they won't be around in a year or two.
smittyjasIII 08-12-2008, 07:18 AM
wow! thats alot of money! now i agree very cool, and useful in so many ways! But i still cant find myself almost spending half what i spent on my Hellement, for a Tent/kayak holder/trailer/sleeper.
i wish it did have the shower, toilet and hot water. id be sold!

lilkrou 08-18-2008, 11:57 AM I just spoke with a dealer in Iowa and he stated that they [I]are[I] selling like hotcakes. They currently have two in stock, but they can not get them quick enough to satisfy demand.
They do seem pricey, but if it is what you are looking for, then go for it! JMO
off the grid 08-18-2008, 07:59 PM We're back from our maiden voyage to Tahoe National Forest. This area is located north of Lake Tahoe and receives fewer visitors. There are numerous alpine lakes accessible just off the highway and via hiking trails. What a joy this little trailer is. Lightweight, easy to set-up and real comfortable. Since the Tahoe National Forest is at altitude, we had to climb a few big hills. We gave the E a break by only using the a/c on descents.
This past Saturday, the Go got a very nice write up in the NY Times.
