Hey there,
I am in Orlando and would love to join or help start some kind of get together. I think if I've seen 10 E' s on the street out here I may be exagerating. There's one on my block (Galapagos) and I run into them coming and going to work all the time. But thats it! The dealer I bought mine from has had the same 7 or 8 vehicles on their lot for the past month, By the way they beat everybody in Central and Northern Florida as well as Southern Georgia by alot. So I don't why there aren't more out there. Let me know what you guys come up with! C-ya

ATTENTION SOUTH FLORIDA ELEMENT OWNERS!

JL Audio (website: http://www.jlaudio.com), a leader in car audio is in need of a Honda Element to take measurements and mold a Stealthbox subwoofer product from.

If you're interested in helping other Element owners get great sound in their cars, and you live in the South Florida area near Miramar, then please respond to this post, or send me a PM with your e-mail info and I will put you in touch with the right person at JL Audio. I suspect that in return for your help, JL Audio will very likely reward you for your efforts.

Below is the formal product description:

Stealthbox® subwoofer systems represent an entirely new level of automotive subwoofer engineering. Handcrafted from fiberglass, Stealthbox systems are unequalled in terms of construction quality and enclosure rigidity. The precision molding process allows each model to fit the exact contours of its specific vehicle, resulting in a totally integrated subwoofer system that looks like it came from the factory, doesn't interfere with comfort or utility and stays out of sight.

You can take a look at the existing line of Stealthboxes by visiting: http://www.jlaudio.com/stealthbox/index.html

Here's what the Stealthbox for the CRV looks like (as an example):

Just found the site today. Got my E after waitng ten days for Delivery. Went to SEH in Palm Bay. Wanted as few miles on it as possible. (My'89 Civic had 3 miles) Test by technician got a little carried away and took delivery with 9 miles..Damn, I wish all of them we're mine.
I've probably sold six or eight E's for them since I got mine. Everyone loves it.

OK Eastcoast E owners (and others), it's time for a meet! Does anyone have any ideas for a beach get-together? The only place that I know you can drive on the sand is by Perico Bay near Bradenton. (Near Anna Maria Island) It's not like Daytona or anything however. Good photo ops, and there is a cool restraunt on the water. Swimming too. Let's do this thing, I have started to see alot more E's around lately. Ideas?? 8)

Hi, I will be there. Anna Maria Island is perfect. Let's pick a date, say, Sept.6th. We can meet on the beach, if indeed we can drive on it, and the rest will be history of the first "E" gathering with "Anna". I don't know about bar-b-queing on the seashore, we have some time to work out the kinks. Let's get this going. Joe.

I bought mine at Classic on W. Colonial. Not bad but I had to beat them up real bad... They are bit tough on prices, but they are the cheapest in Orlando. I went to all 4 local dealers and worked over the phone with dealers in Tampa, Georgia and St. Pete. Classic beat them all! That was in March though. I don't know how the market is now. Good Luck!!!

I am in Fort Lauderdale which isn't exactly centrally-located but I was wondering if there were any "E" owners who would like to form a caravan and go camping on one of the lower keys (on the beach) for a weekend. I know a place that is very user-friendly, allows pets and is very reasonable ($17 night). Please let me know and maybe we can put something together. "If it's not on the calander it's not gonna happen". :D

I am willing to drive north, south, east or west.

I want to "talk" other owners (can't really enjoy the pleasure shared about the E via a message board).

I don't care if it's 2 or 20 people, I just want to see other people and their E's.

Let's do this folks!

I'll start it off, you add to it, we sort it and meet.
Here goes...

Calvin...Mt Dora ride ..October 8/9/10.. Sept. looks like this .

4th thru 6th. Tour of Sebring.
4th. Assualt on Mt. Sugarloaf . at Winter Garden.(Climbers Heaven )
18th & 19th ..Tour of St. Augustine.
25th & 26th. Homestead ...

I'd prefer that we give ourselves more time to plan .. How's October. ?

Oct. 3rd. 10th ,annual Rails to Trails. At the Withlacoochee . Inverness Fl.( I have a home here on the trail )

Oct. 8/9/10 Mt Dora Climb.

Personally ,I think all locations are great .The only problem that I have with the 4th events is Labor Day & prior plans for others wanting to attend. No Calvin .It's the annual "Rails to Trails ride".. A fund raiser for Florida Rails to Trails .I believe it's the 13th annual. We usually make it into a 2-3 day event & one of those a century. If your not familiar with the Withlacoochee trail ,it's paved /12 - 14 ft. wide & 46 miles long .The upper half is hilly & ends at Dunellon . The only unpaved portion is the climb over rt.50 at Brooksville.

I just bought a home there & settle on it Sept.1st. There are 4 other trails there & the new Sun Coast trail ,58 miles & a few decent climbs . I wonder if Shadow is a cyclists :?:

We are moving there permanetly for of the superior cycling trails .Inverness itself is the most friendly bicycing community I have ever seen. The cars actually stop for you at road crossings along the trails. (most of the time )

I belong to 3 cycling clubs and all support this ride .It's larger than the Starke ride . If you want hills ,they are plentiful in the Dunellon area.

   LOf'enL!!!

No sir, I'm not a cyclist. Sadly, I've let my 'horizons' expand a bit.
The closest I've ever been to a 'cyclist' was during my teen years. I was in to and good at freestyle BMX stuff (basic blacktop tricks and stunts). However, I was still eligable for shopping in the husky section.

But...

If the need be, I could get a mountain bike and hope that someone would be willing to tow me up the steep hills, with an occational smoke break for myself.

Honestly, I am not extremely out of shape, but I'd be up for a bike ride too. Just don't expect any record setting times out of me. ;)

Socks :?: what socks :?: .I'm a beach bum.. :P Items like a wristwatch ,socks, underwear (why invite jungle rot ) & appointment book went out the window 18 years ago. Don't needum here in Florida. The only time I wear socks is when I cycle & that's to stop pedal burn. :P :P

Thanks for your efforts in getting another member to join in the planned meet. Now if we can get a couple more we can avoid looking like a chance meeting. :P Everyone ,if your in Florida or nearby & your reading this ,jump in !!! You may even have fun ..

Those are so are awkward (much like spelling the word awkward). Honestly, I guess I feel that way because I'm the one who approaches the other driver. I just can't help it when I see another Element owner pull into a parking lot or gas station, I have to go over to them (I useually drive my [i]E[/e] over to them) and start a conversation. I usually start off with, "So, how do you like it?" Then I plug the ole Cloud-Rider grille. (NOTE TO CLOUD RIDER PERSONNEL: I should get a commition for all the folks I've sent your way. ;) ) However, my main goal is to tell them about www.elementownersclub.com . This place has provided such a great source of information, as well as a sence of comradery. My hope is that they are actually visiting here, and will eventually take part in the Florida Owners forum.

Damn, I can ramble on at times, huh?

Shadow

Whenever I get the chance ,even in slow moving traffic,I hand or place one of our club flyers.. I suggest printing a few & keeping them over your visor.

I have placed more than a dozen & have yet to see a mention of them on any post. I handed one over to a fellow in slow traffic in D.C. & never heard a word. ( ungrateful bastards ) :P

hi
just got back from nc. i do not think that the blue ridge ever goes down. it feels like all i was doing was climbing. 30 minutes of climbing and all i get in return is 5/6 minutes of going down. but, i will tell you that there is nothing like going down the mountain at 40+ mph. i will try to rearange my sched in oct for a meet. the only weekend that is definately out is the last weekend of the month.

Forget it, just cough up the money. Not having air in Florida is akin to living in Maine without a winter coat. Whatever it costs, it's worth every penny!

Hey Florida folks :!: Y'all make it through Charlie OK :?: I live exactly where Charlie decided to come ashore. Extensive damage here .I live on Cape Haze & we took a beating .My home is less than 5 years old & built to withstand 140 mph winds .It did do what it was designed to do. But 50 & 60 ft. trees (3) landed on it .Ugh .Crushing the corner of the roof.

I hope Y'all faired as well .Unfortunetly there are deaths & destruction all around us here .We keep losing elect. power & the computer of course follows right behind .

Roadie....

I'm glad to here that you are well.

This 'Charlie' was a real meany.

I feel bad to say, given all the disaster around us, that Zephyhills got little more than the average day's worth of Floridian rain fall.

Thanks Shadow. We are putting it behind us .Time heals all wounds. It was as close a call as it can get. That sucker passed right over us & spared my family. We were at ground zero. I really feel for those less fortunate then us. Most can't afford to start over .There's many broken hearts around us today. I was totally taken back by the concern of people from our past. We even had calls from former classmates of our childhood. It really helps to know that others care including our friends here at the EOC.

Hey Florida Roadie, I guess it's our turn this time with Frances advancing ever so closer to our eastern coast line. It's a very frightening thing to just wait for this thing to strike. I am prepared as you can be, but after seeing what Andrew and Charley did to homes in their paths, even being prepared sometimes is not good enough. I can't believe there is another powerful storm ready to strike Florida.

Florida Roadie
09-01-2004, 09:52 PM
Yep Subie it looks like it's headed your way .Maybe it's time to load your survival goods into the E & put the E into the garage & back it up tight to the garage door. Sit out the storm in your car .Unless your home is of recent standards ,the E could be your best bet.

The latest indicators show it on a W N W path & that could mean a nasty weekend for old ( Rats Mouth ) Boca Raton. This baby look a lot like Andrew & could well be a cat. 5 ..

If you haven't seen a hurricane before ,stay inside & stay low...Good luck Subie .. :P
