My r&t enclosure just came in the mail today and i'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to wire my 2 ohm dvc subs to a 2ohm amp. I understand how to wire it, but the box sealed on both sides with two seperate cup terminals for each sub.

Is there anyway to get around having to drill holes to wire the two subs up or do i have to do that in order to achieve my goal?

Elaborate a little. Are the subs dual 2 ohm voicecoils? Is the amp a monoblock amp that is 2 ohm stable or a 2 channel amp that is 2 ohm stable?

If each coil is 2ohms then wire the voice coils on each sub in series(minus of one VC to plus of the other VC) therby making each sub 4ohms. Then wire the reamining + and - on the sub to the terminals on the box. Now the box is "showing" two 4ohm subs which you wire in parallel (+ to +, - to -) thereby taking the system back to 2ohms which you wire to the amp's + and -.

This is assuming that your amp is a mono block amp that is stable to 2 ohms or a 2 channel amp that is stable down to 1 ohm.

oops my bad. Yes the amp is monoblock 2 ohm stable. sorry to confuse yall. its not the amp or the impedance i'm worried about.

my problem is that since it is a sealed enclosure and i cannot wire the subs together, would it be ok to wire them together throught the boxes speaker cup terminals? so could i wire them in parallel through the terminals and on to the amp?

and yes they are dual voice coil 2 ohm subs.

yeah that is fine as long as your at 2 ohms going to the amp, you can use silicone to plug up the little bit of air that will pass through the hole.

Just do it like BigAl stated....no drilling/silicon required.

This advice is all well and good and your subs should sound pretty nice.

But there is one major problem........
