Our Element (11,000 miles) continues to give off a strong sulfer-like smell, whether it's warmed up or not. It is noticeable when turning off the engine and stepping out of the vehicle. Is this a normal thing -- does everyone experience this or could there be a problem :?:

Thanks![/img]

Do you live near a dairy?

Seriously though, I was told by the sales person that Emissions are under an extended warranty, so go check it out!

I've got 7500 miles and mine still does the same thing, noticable about once every week or two. So not that often, but it is annoying when I think my car is passing gas! I've read in other posts that it's normal though. I'm still gonna bring it up with the tech when I take it in for oil next week.

FWIW, I've run across idle chat that some brands of gasoline are more prone to this than others. While gas is gas most of the time, the additives that distinguish brands seem to play a role. If it's enough to notice, then it might be worth your while to try another brand for a bit.

I have had my Element for just over a week. Same problem with the smell. I'll be bringing it up at my next service visit as my Element has only 400 miles on it as of now. I hope I won't be smelling this for the next several years!
