Why is it so difficult to get your car serviced right? Every time I take my E in, I feel like I am talking to a brick wall. I tell the service rep 2 or 3 problems I have and they never get fixed. My muffler sounds like it has a hole in it...but the service reps don't hear it. If they don't hear it, I guess it doesn't exsist! I must be lying!?! What do I need to do, video tape it when I hear it again? I also have the infamous dash pop! Mine comes from the passenger side A piller so they put felt under the dash (per the TSB) but on the driver's side A piller. Where's the logic in that? I specifically asked for them to put it on both sides so I didn't have to come back, and especially the side it is coming from. I went an entire day without my car and got nothing resolved. Now they have to deal with me again and wouldn't have to if they would have done it right the first time. I don't have the luxury of being without a car very long as my work requries me to drive around the Dallas Metroplex. It's like they don't want to do any work, just get the cars in and out. Just venting my frustrations and I won't name Dealerships and I'm sure there are great service dealers out there, just none in Dallas.

I called my service dept. at the dealership where I purchased my E and made an appointment for some small fix-its that would be covered in the first 12,000 miles. They had me bring it in at 7am on Tue 11/4. I arrived bright and early and was the first one there. I showed the service asst. mgr. the 3-4 things that needed some minor adjustments and he was able to see and duplicate the noises I have been hearing. He said it would be ready by 6-7pm on that day. At 4pm he called me to tell me they haven't even started my car and he would provide me with a free rental. The next day came and went, so I called at around 4 pm and he said they had to order some parts, the car would be ready at the end of the next day. Today is the next day, and I called at 2pm. He said FedEx hadn't arrived with my parts, and he would need another day. We are now going on 4 days due to my speaker cover needing to be replaced and a loose seat. I am making a pretty hefty monthly payment to be riding around in a base model Ford Focus.

Where has she been, by the way? Too long the silence!

I don't think she has any suggestions to help me considering I have been to every dealer here. I called today and opened a case with American Honda and they are contacting the dealer. They said they would call me back in 3-5 biz days. I think it is a horrible idea to not give loaners. David McDavid Acura gives them but David McDavid Honda (or I guess any Honda dealer) doesn't?!? I paid more for my E than a base RSX.

I am posting a follow-up to my experience that I ranted about above...

I brought my E back to the same dealer today to get the right side of the dash fixed. I only brought it back to the same dealer because it is the closest one to me and they told me you do not need an appointment if it is a re-check.

The service rep slipped up (I think) and told me something they probably shouldn't tell a customer. He made me take another test drive and he said, "We have to duplicate the sound to be able to fix it. If we try to fix it and get it wrong the first time and you bring it back because it was a different cause and we have to work on it again, we don't get paid for it." I said, "this is the second time so you won't get paid for this". He said, "oh, yeah". My point is, the service rep already duplicated the sound on the first test drive and they even admitted they fixed the wrong side. I just want the to fix the dash rattle according to the TSB on the Passenger Side A Pillar!!!! Why is that so hard to understand? They heard the sound once from that side! Errrrrrrr! Oh well.

One more rant: Why do I have to pretend I am buying a car and fill out information on a contact sheet just to get a brochure? I wanted to see the Element '04 brochure but had to deal with a really bad salesman. He also acted like he was going to go back to the service dept and beat everybody up until they fixed my car since he thought I might be buying a new one. I guess it is all about the $!!! The brochure is cool though...it has some cool Element stickers it it. One or two will probably be going on my Thule Fairing.

Thanks for listening to my rants everybody and hopefully I will get my Elly back today rattle free!
