hi, dealers. i am sooooooooo sorry to be posting this question on an Element board, BUT - everyone here has been so nice and helpful, i can't help myself.

i am considering buying a 1997 accord wagon. it is in very good shape, with just under 60K miles. private owner wants 10K for the car. no major repairs have been done to it yet.

is this a good purchase? since nothing's broken down yet, am i going to be spending a lot of money fixing this car in the future? does the 97 sta-wag have any problem areas i should know about? is this car about to start breaking down, or is it just getting broken in?

please help...

BTW - the Element will be my NEXT car purchase, after it's been around a couple more years...

im in canada so i cant really help you on pricing....but the wagon was a good car......ask for maint records....check to see if the t-belt and water pump have been changed....if they havent they are due...other than that if the car has been well looked after it should be a good purchase.

The Accord Wagon was/is a very good vehicle. I think that you might be able to get it cheaper than that, but definitely a solid car. Check www.nada.com and kellybluebook for some accurate info. Best of luck.
