Just bought a new Element last Friday
Seeking an aftermarket CD Changer compatible with standard issue single-CD radio that came with the car.
I asked the dealer who makes the factory radio and he thought Alpine.
It appears to be 6-disc changer compatible, already (as indicated on the 1-6 keys that are for AM/FM station presents but also for disc changes, I'm assuming from the way they're marked.
Does anyone know if ONLY Honda's aftermarket accessories are compatible with this factory radio -- seems unlikely if they have another manufacturer OEM-ing the radios for them.
I understand that I can go the FM modulation route, but would prefer to use the controls already on the Honda factory radio.

I was about to ask the same question. Looks like you never got an answer. I replaced a 1995 Integra with my "E". I put an aftermarket Alpine 6 disc changer in the Integra and it interfaced to the factory head unit just fine. I used it for 6 years and never had a problem with it. Was thinking about doing the same thing with the Element as it's so much cheaper than the Honda 8 disk changer. But I didn't know if it would work with the factory head unit and if it would fit under the seat the same way the Honda one does. It would be kind of stupid to put one anywhere else as it would screw up the "E"s hauling capabilities. Did you ever find out?
