Once again I'm looking for more e-lectronic gadgets for my E. I couldn't stop with just the XM Roady... Has anyone seen or heard of the Garmin SreetPilot 2610? It look small enough to mount on one of the shelves, but I'm looking for owners opinions. Thanks...
Sup Vegas,
I'm using a laptop based GPS from Delorme. Laptop is bigger and bulkier when compared to Garmin, but it also has a 14" screen. I also have to purchase one of those "police style laptop platforms that sits the laptop in the perfect driving position. GPS reciever is the size of a matchbook and connects via USB. While not perfect, GPS is a huge improvement over using conventional "old school" hardcopy maps.
P.S.
Most little Garmin's I see, are sitting in a "bean bag" style on-the-dash holder/mount.

If you do a search on 750 nav - you'll see a post with my nav system.

Here's my Garmin StreetPilot III Deluxe (basically the same as the 2610, sans touchscreen)

Does that unit fit on the shelf in front of the cig lighter? I've seen those on Ebay for about $300. Are they pretty good?
