So... I went and got my E lowered.. I said 2 inches.. I came back and they were all the way down.. didn't look to bad I thought *PIX below* well...
I checked the site and found the awesome writeups from both dance and burn but.. im just putting this out there to A) Gripe about it.. and B) to make sure Im not going in the wrong direction with what I need to do

It rubbed bad, I was told I needed an alignment and adjusting the cambers because right now they are wayyyyyyy off... I had to drive from Honolulu to Makakilo (MY house) because all the Goodyear shops were closed and it was to say the least very scary.. I don't know how much damage actually happened, maybe nothing that bad.. but.. i smelt a lot of rubber and it scrapped everytime i hit any sort of bump.. so I'm caught up on potholes for the next year...

I'm running a 255/35/20 with a 35 offset on some KMC Jacks and Five Rimz

I def think I'm going to have to either shave or roll the fender... from the looks of it anyways.. waiting on my skunk2 on the butt bounce...

Anything else in this time of crisis tip wise would be nice... I don't think I got ripped off or damaged, I'm just a little distraught about the whole ordeal.. It feels like I'm always getting ripped off... So far I paid 30 for each coilover and 20 for each camber making that 200 bucks.. + whatever this alignment is going to cost.. estimated 100 bucks

if they are coilovers (which it looks like it would have to be that low) why can't they adjust the rears up higher? the front is sitting higher because the back is TO LOW when you raise up the back it will even out the drop. If you paid a shop to lower the car I would at least expect them to look at that and KNOW something isnt right. No alignment shop is going to be able to make your car not rub with that much drop in the back...it needs to start higher so the car is more level before you start tweaking other crap. I don't have my element lowered but I have a lot of experience with hondas with coilovers and I would say they need to be adjusted to account for the drop you want (but also be even front to back) Good luck.

Wow...the rear is way too low.

seriously. the cambers need a lot of adjustment in the back too. why did they not do it when they installed it. they could have at least tried to straighten it. gl with everything. make sure after u align to check the tires and rims. check the tires for excessive wear and check the rims for ovaling from pressure. idk how far the drive was, but if it was far enough, these could be nightmare pt. 3. GOOD LUCK. please do let us know. we r all hoping for good news. best wishes to u.

I drove about 20 miles... about 40mph.. I was very distraugt..

I don't know about why the shop didn't do it.. I'm pretty disappointed again by all the local business.. fast cash get done get out.. i'll probably have to take it to another shop for them to adjust it.. driving back and forth with these problems is not worth it..

for $50.00 usd u can have aaa tow it tomorrow up to 3 miles so u do not have to drive on it more. they can bring the flat bed tow truck so ur e only drives up onto it and down off it.

Wow, sorry to hear about the lowering issues. Even out the drop, and get the alignment redone.

I think you will fell much better about everything if you just raise the rear and get the alignment done. You will probably have to shave the rear fenders, but that is a common thing with those who lower their Elements on Teins. You should be able to easily raise the rear end up yourself. You should just have two wrenchs, providing by Tein, and crank it up until your liking. This should greatly reduce the rubbing issues too. Goodluck.

You definitely need front and rear camber kits for it.

Because of the sizing of your rims, you need to raise the rear end up more. The width of your wheels/tires in addition to the negative camber is what's causing the rubbing. If you get adjustable camber arms, they may rub on the fenders but I cant tell from the angle of the pics.

Yeah, you need to bring the back up a little and get that camber fixed. You shouldn't have rubbing on the inside of the fenders, I'm running a 275 in the rear and I've never rubbed inside like that. If you really want the rear that low you may need to have someone tear out your fender guts and rebuild a bigger lining or something up in there. I think having the rear that low is gonna be a horrible ride even if you fix the rubbing, you've got hardly any room for the wheel to travel.

I recommend a little camber. Maybe -2 or so, it will lead to irregular tire wear though. You got to pay to look good right? I have my fender cut out entirely and I still have to run a little negative camber to clear. Here's a picture of mine with the -2.5 camber in the rear I'm running right now:

Why don't you just jack the rear of your car up, adjust the coilover height to all the way up, then drive it back to the shop and raise hell!!!

No prob. After looking at those pics a 2nd time I bet that if you get your fender lips cut away and adjust your camber a bit you should have a nice fit. A couple pics of the rear look like your almost clearing the fender lip already. If you cut away the 1-2 inches of fender lip and bring the camber out (+) so you're not rubbing inner fender you should be OK. I wish I knew how low mine was so I could give you that number too. I just told my shop to lower it until it would just barely clear fender. Good luck dude!

ps. I'm looking for a shop near Honolulu that can handle your fenders for you. I know some car guys over there...

I'm going to go buy a decent jack and some stands today.. I'm just going to adjust the coilover and camber myself, I'll let the shop who does the fender rolling do the fine tuning with the alignment if needed, i hate dropping 100s of dollars on stuff that I could do myself if I just read a bit

so.. I made the shop tow my car back there and fix it.. well to the best of their idiotic abilities... Got the camber adjusted to -2 or so he said.. and raised up the back as much as they could.. this is what he said.. which I think sounds fishy.. "The springs are expanded too much, so we can't raise it all the way up, we can try bout you can only get about an inch" So I guess we did that, raised the fronts up a little.. and put back the plastic liner, which I thought was stupid to take out (exposing my CAI.. which is dumb) but now theres clanking, maybe it's just the springs breaking in, but I'm going to another shop closer by tomorrow to get pound in the wheel well a little to stop the little bit of rubbing on bumps, and to roll the fender and adjust the coil overs about.. maybe .5 inches lower, then I'll be satisfied.. pix tomorrow, it's dark.
