Does any one know if pkh34 works for the 08 element? I just installed it and programming does not seem to work.

I only know of it for 2005-2007  I Believe it is compatible with Honda and Acura vehicles with Type C or Type D anti-theft systems :)

I used it worked fine but did not program as stated when i plugged it in the LED went on solid and stayed on through and after the ignition was turned on then turned off stayed on for maybe 8- 10 sec total i had that happen with a accord also once. Also the data D2D crap still dont work least not on my 05 and its a late model so it should have.

Does your key have any letters stamped on the blade?

Locksmith, I have a "V" stamped on the blade

In short, it won't work.

The V means that it's the megamos encrypted system. When I search for the pkh34 most sites say it's compatible with type C and D (we call 'em type 3 and 4) which is the megamos fixed code system.

sorry

that freaking crap. so I'm stuck with using the 556U then?

question though, Are you saying that 07 and 08 have different transponder keys? I thought 07's were same as 08?

Would I be able to get a key with different letter stamped on it, other than magamos system, and get that key programmed on to the car, then program PKH34 with it?

From what I can find the '03 - '05 are the fixed code system, pkh34 should work for those. The '06 - '08 are the encrypted system (V stamped on key), I honestly don't know what works with them. Since the 556U uses one of your keys, that's already programed, it should work. If you have it, I'd use the valet key. I don't really see the point in the 556U cause if someone finds it they can steal your car cause the key is right there. Kinda defeats the purpose of having the alarm. If you want, I could check if we have any spent key blanks and send you one. You could cut it open, get the chip programed and use that. It would be much safer.

cheers

If you go to Bypasskits.com (http://www.bypasskits.com/) it says that the PKH34 works for the 08 Element and I am inclined to believe they are correct. I would not assume it isn't working till you have the main ignition wiring connections done properly.

They only can steal it if the installer is not smart enough to cut the blade off the key. Thats the way we have always done it. Sucks but its the only fool proof way

pkh34 works.

finished the install and it worked just fine. programming instruction sucks though.

Now I have remote start, but i still need to find a good tach signal the alarm can use.

PKH34 works in both install method A and B. B has no cutting. So I'd suggest using that if anyone gets the PKH34.
