Our fall camping weekend will be held at Kings Mountain State Park in Blacksburg, South Carolina. The State Park has a website and a ton of information - check it out as you have time.
General info from the State Park:
Each site is packed gravel and includes individual water and electrical hookups.
Tent and RV Camping
Camping Reservations Accepted: To make a camping reservation, call toll-free 1-866-345-PARK or make it online by clicking Park Reservation (http://southcarolinaparks.reserveamerica.com/jsp/commonpage.jsp?goto=/usa/sc/king/newindex.html).
Camping reservations must be made for a minimum of two nights.
115 sites with Elec. & Water rent for $16-18/site/night
Note: Rates listed do not include applicable sales tax and nonrefundable transaction fee.
Dump Station Available: Yes
Laundry Facilities: Yes
In order to keep us together, we have picked Loop #2 sites 40 - 50 as our 'Base Camp' While it is not a requirement that everyone camp together it would be far more fun if we did. That said, if you're planning to attend consider making your reservation as soon as possible.
About dogs, the only requirement I saw was that they must be leashed (6' maximum), well behaved, and of course the be cleaned up after.
That said, I'm thinking we need to have something 'special' this trip - not sure what exactly but we need 'something'...
Maybe a Dinner Dish Cookoff? or something like that, but we certainly don't want to wind up with too much food --- if not we'll do our standard 'menu' distribution. We'll make that call in the next couple of weeks or so. For now, rest assured there will be food. :razz:
Maybe do some moddin' ? - - I'm not certain how the Park Rangers would react when we start disassembling vehicles... :roll: But hey, we'll put 'em back together. So if you have that Home Depot Grill Guard that needs installing, or fog lights, or side steps... need I go on?
We will hold our Mid-South "Bolo" championship as well as a couple of more 'games' along that line too.
