If my memory serves me correctly the LX HU doesn't require a radio code.

Is it an after market unit?

No code on LX radios. Just to be sure Seaside, your radio looks like the one on the left, yes?

Easier than that. Owners manuals are available in PDF.

I had to reset my code on my radio the other day. It kept the first digit in line for some reason. I would enter the 5 digit # & that would be one too many. Finally I skipped the first # & added the next 4 & it worked.

For those who might read this later, looking for the answer, It may vary.

I don't know what to tell soemone if they got their E used and there isn't a chain of information, other than to check some of the common locations like in the glove box, inside door frames, sometimes inside the tailgate door frame, on the radio itself etc.

I understand that there were stickers that had the numbers on them. In my case, the salesman took one and put it on a plastic card and gave it to me. I put that in a file with all the original information that I got with my car so I have it handy. Another thought, check throughout your manual. Maybe they put one of the stickers in there. I understand that some dealers would hide one of the stickers in the car somewhere so that it could be found in such a situation or when you have your car in for service and they have to disconnect the battery.

The dealer may even have the number recorded in their files of the sale of your car or with your maintenance records. I had my car in for service last week and needed to have the battery replaced. I got into the car after picking it up, realized that they never asked about the number and feared that the radio would not turn on. However, to my surprise, all was fine. Either they found the number somewhere in the car, or they had it in their files, or they had a way to change the battery witout loosing power to the radio. Whatever the situation, they never needed to ask me for the number.

If you know who originally sold the car, or have a Honda dealer that you use. Contact them and see if they can find it for you. Look throughout the car to see if you can find a small sticker somewhere.
