Anyone know the size of tire that I should get if I have some 18x7.5 wheels, and I am going for the SAME overall wheel & tire diameter as the stocks?

I dont know, but I have 18s and mine are 245 /55 / 18 and I can send you a picture if you want!

You can't get exactly the same size in 18's. We have two choices (I'm doing the same thing right now).

245/55/18 which will be roughly 3/4" taller than stock.

230/50/18 which is roughly 1/2" smaller than stock.

Both will only throw the speedo of very slightly, but you can always have the speedo calibrated to the new tire ratio.

I won't be re-calibrating because I will be throwing 215/70/16 (stock size) winter tires on from December to late March since 18's won't get me up and down the mountain too well in the winter.

I dont think its worth recalibrating - i only notice like 1 mph difference at 60mph.

Exactly, 1/2 to 3/4" either way will not make much of a difference. Even the same 215/70/16 spec'd tire can vary 1/2" between Firestone, Goodyear, BFG, etc. Not worth worrying about.

Yeah, I like the 245/55/18 combo, and that is what I will do most likely. I have a 2" drop right now, and I do have some room left over. I need to do a camber kit to fix the rear, and when my stock tires finish off, and are in need of change, I'm going to use that as my excuse to go with new rims as well...so I'll do the upgrade.

2" drop - eh. You will be pleased with the look of the new rims and tires then. My husband is campaigning for a drop, but so far I havent let him do it.

I LOVE the stance as it is, and when I slap some 18's on it, it'll only look better. One thing, though...if you guys do get a drop, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, GET A REAR CAMBER KIT!!! My rear camber is absolutely terrible. I'll take care of it soon though. With a rear camber kit, it'll be awesome.

I can tell you, though, that stiffer, lower springs does reduce body roll a lot. It's still no sports car, but it does handle a lot better, and when I had to jerk the wheel to avoid an accident, it did respond FAR better than stock...far far far better. Thank God, hahaha...FAR FAR FAR FAR better, lol.

The ride itself is still great, unless the road is really bumpy, but you've got to pay to play, right? I actually own a racing shop, but I do not carry Sprint Springs, which are the ones I went with because Sprint offered a 2" drop. I ordered them from Suspensionmax.com, and they were $139 shipped...can't beat that, and it cost me $100 to get them installed. I love it.

Only one question.

If you own a shop, why pay installation?

Yeah I know Im cheap.

Speedupgrade is internet only. My day job is as an EMT, racing is just a hobby, so I opened an online gig for it. I could have dropped it myself, but I am quite impatient when it comes to cars, and have learned to just let someone else do it...hehe, trust me, hehehe

Cool. Stay safe out there! I know LA is a scary place for public safety people. I had an ExBF in West Hollywood CHP. He took me on a ride along once that was an Eye Opening experience.

I generally stay in Nor Cal where I feel safe!

Where you running those 20's? I'm torn on 20 vs 18's for here in PA, home of the worst roads on the planet. Hell, Jamaica has better roads than we do. The 18's have a little over 5" of sidewall where the 20's are barely over 3"...that scares me.

I WANT the 20's but my sensible, rational side says go with the 18's and save myself some headaches down the road.

Raleigh, NC and Atlanta, Ga

NC is workin on every damn road and i do drive back and forth to at lanta every other weekend. I-85 is a wreck but no problems so far. though i am thinking of changing out the Giovanna's and puttin on some spinners now. same size.

I have seen some 245 40 20z. that should help with the tire width if your worried. looks almost as good. i tihnk that leaves like 3.75" of tire roughly.

I still think the potholes here are too dangerous for 20's :(

One rainstorm and hit a flooded pothole you can't see and kiss a $400 rim and $250 tire goodbye! Some of the backroads I have to drive look like abandoned minefields.

You might be right.
In that case I would go with 18z or 19z

for 18z i would suggest 255 45 18s.

for 19z i would suggest 255 40 19s or 245 45 19
though 19s are generally as or more expensive than 20s.

definately harder to find **** that you will like.
