On the stock headunit, are the low level outputs for the left/right front/rear full range outs? Or are they passing only mids and highs?

It it's crossed, what is the crossover frequency?

I'm just guessing below, as I haven't take things apart yet. Perhaps sharing my throught process might help?

Assuming you mean the EX model (since you said stock), I *suspect* that the architecture was done such that the head-unit is pretty generic, but the amplifier is tuned to the speaker system they use.

I *suspect* that the head unit sends full range on four channels out to the amplifier. I also *suspect* that the "Subwoofer control" on the head unit is more of a lower-than-Bass tone control for both of the line-level-out pairs.

The output of the separate amplifier is a different story. I'd bet there's a cross-over inside the amp for the subwoofer (based on the front L/R). Not sure if that's pre or post amp, but it's probably pre, based on the components of the 270W max. Not sure if the rear speakers get full spectrum or have the sub-bass frequencies removed entirely.

More later.

Since everything comes out of the amp and the amp is the crossover at the doors, you're only recieving mids and highs plus there is an inline midbass blocker for the tweeters.

The sub only recieves low frequencies from the amp.
